Hey guys
Thinking to turbo my sohc no vtec civic , just curious if anyone has got this and what you think of it?
Ive never owned a turbo car before so I wouldnt have a clue :(
There is the greddy kit and the avo kit but seems like the AVO is a better package
According to avo dyno on their site it makes 105kw at the wheels and this is probably sohc vtec engine , which to me doesnt sound like much- doesnt the ek4 make this sort of power ?
What do you guys think of this kit for track use? i dont want anything to blow up

i know someone who's had an AVO kit on their sohc vtec for the past 2 years.. and nothing has blown up since..
so i'm assuming AVO are alright.. and reliable..

Faster if you do it right. Heres an example of an AVO stage 2 turbo kit on a CXi - http://members.optusnet.com.au/terroristone/gallery.html

Hey Mate, I had a Stage 2 Avo kit on my Delsol Crx, B16A2.
When deciding it really depends on what your after.
If you are after something simple bolt on,
No fuss, with the minimum of hassle,
Shortest completion time,
with decent power gains,
Then the Avo kit would be good for you and you can talor a stage kit to suit your needs.
But if you have some knowledge you can always research your own custom setup, which in the end will be heaps better. Just depends if you have the time. I would never go a kit again. But it up to you what you want?
Regarding use on track. You will definatly need to revise your cooling. Oil cooler, lower temp thermo, alloy radiator.
With the B16A2 Stage 2 kit, Avo say 135kw-140kw @ wheels. But you can go more, depending of tunner.

Yeah a ready kit suits me best as i dont really know what im looking for so the kit will save me a lot of time and hassle
Also im not really after an insane power, just something to give the car decent usable power on the track and not for straight line drags

Ive got a AVO kit in my dc2.
no fuss bolt on installation (1 day job)
very neat in the engine bay
not the biggest hp maker but great response for everyday traffic driving
The only thing i didnt like was the link ecu, but possibly could be due to the tune.

I has also 'heard' people having problems with the link Ecu. I know you said that yours might be the tune. I just hear people putting the Link Ecu down, like its no good. I never had a problem with it and it served me well.

they are a great kit, i managed to wheel off a 13.3 @ 103mph on 13" stockies. they are worth the money, easy to fit, but i didnt get the crappy ecu with mine, i opted for the microtech and also an aftermarket fuel reg. it drives really well and pulls nice on the street. for a street car i consider it quite quick.
