Hi guys,

I have recently bought a second hand cat back exhaust for my DC2, and the previous owner mentioned that the cat included was a JDM ITR cat, but was not 100% sure.

How do i tell it is a JDM ITR cat?

Also, if it is, is it worth keeping this cat or better opting for an after market high flow cat in term of performance?

Thanks

it is shorter than audm, and as far as i know, it is a good flowing cat.

jdm cat should be 12inches...

Thanks guys, now i know it is actually a JDM cat. Now just the decision on whether to keep it or go for an after market high flow cat

JDM cat has a 2.5" flange
for ease of fitment keep the jdm cat as it is a direct bolt on for most JDM integra extractors.

ditto!
not to mention SOME jdm catbacks

the Cat will be bolted onto a Spoon header and Mugen twinloop cat back exhaust. Wouldnt it be just as convenient to use an aftermarket cat with a 2.5inch flange?

if u want to spend the money !

thats why i ask because if there are some gains to be made (i know it would be minimal), then i dont mind spending abit extra to achive this, especially when the header and exhaust are not yet installed

make sure it fits cause from memory.. i could be wrong; but the flange for the JDM cat is diagonal compared to audm.

if the headers dont bolt onto the cat, you are better off going to after market and reselling the cat as its not worth modifying an old cat.

how many kms has the cat done? If its alot mite beworth puttin the money in to get a newie. Doesn't matter how good or expensive a cat is, if its old it would have lost much of its efficiency.

I'm not too sure how many k's the cat has done, as i am the third owner of the cat and exhaust. When you mean efficiency, do you mean the efficiency of the cat minimising emmisions or performance?

I am mainly concerned about the perfomance of the cat, as the fitment and longevity of the cat is not a problem.

does spending another $250 bother you? if not then go and buy a new aftermarket cat... otherwise the jdm cat is fine... it should fit aftermarket jap headers and exhausts.

and i dont think cats really do anything performance wise... not anything noticeable. spend ur $250 on some petrol...

both i think. If its old it will reduce its flow potential and effectiveness in reducing emissions.
