now that i got my digi camera i can now show you wat i found behind my lighter. i was fiddlin round one day, and i opened the case where the ash tray is just below the centre console. and i saw that my cig lighter wasnt connected. i then tried to find the plug for it, was wedged up near the headunit. any way when i pulled it out i saw that one positve was cut and stripped (exposed wire), was actually the positive for the lil light in the ash tray. just wanted to know wat u guys think i should do. i wanna solder them together and either put heat shrink over it or just put tape over it? and if anyone could tell me my in hell someone would cut this? does anybodies lil light work in the ash tray, and wats it for?

maybe they had something conencted to it, and didn't bother reconnecting it, when they took it out.
just connect it back up, solder it if you can if not, twist it well, and tape it up.
and it should be good.

It's for lightling up the ash tray when you open it. You can usually tell at night, not during the day.
maybe they accidentally pulled it apart not knowing what they were doing.

ive had the worst experience with the cigarette ligheter thingy this week.it almost burnt my whole car down...
i had a screw fall in it and it melted my wiring back then it went into my main harness it kept shortin out my car and i kept blowing fuses...
did know where the smoke was cuming from but then figured it out and when i stripped the harness there was burnt wires it was so scary knowing i could have lost my car from a little screw...
anyways just my 2 cents about those shitty cigarette lighter...so if u got no clue dont do it lol hahahah

negative should be fine...just make sure the connector is not touching anything which will make it live lol...

my guess is that the previous owner want to tap a power line that lights up when u switch on the lights... you will need this line for things such as headunit or tacho illumination
