Hi,

How do you know whether the tyre is new or not? let's say if they are 100% new, how many mm's are the threads?
Might be different for each size or brand but is there any guideline or common measurement?

thanks

New tyres will be shiny as they have a coating, even on the treads (that's why you drive cautiously for the first 50km). There are also coloured lines on the tread for some brands and also rubber spikey things that are formed when the tyre is made.

if theyre not there then you have "near new tyres" lol

if they are from a shop, most of them still have the stickers on or at least have some of the glue residue from the sticker on them

new tyres have coloured lines on the tread and usually a sticker on the face :D new tyre tread varies but I would estimate an average 8mm brand spanking new I think.
