Taking a teg to the track?

Hi

Im just wondering if it is a good idea to take a fairly stock integra vtir to the track (maybe wakefield) or if anyone has actually done it before. If they have, any problems? or is there anything to look out for any tips?

My integra has a short-ram intake at the moment, car is in good condition just had a service all fluids changed, gearbox oil, engine oil, good tread on tyres... Can a pretty stock teg take such a beating at the track?

So is it a good idea to take it to the track or will my car overheat and die?! I wanna hear your opinions.. :)

it will be fine... as long as u watch ur engine temp and check the oil ull be good.... also rememba not 2 put ur handbrake up after uv been off the track or u can warp the brakes, u gota wait a bit 4 brakes 2 cool down... but umm yer... car would be fine :)

Yes, a stock teg can keep doing happy laps...just ensure to check your tyres as tracking your car chews through street tyre life span...and also you find the tread gets chewed up a bit lol...

I have had no overheating problems at all. Seriously though, my teg was going strong, when some of the other turbo cars have overheated near by. Do the normal safety checks.

You wont have any over heating problems, i have the same radiator in my civic and it works perfect even in summer. Remember let your car idel for a few minutes after you stop before turning it off. Make sure you run around 40 psi in your tyres. The best money you can spend is get a good wheel alignment before the track meet.

didn't time myself last time...prior to that 1.19 on street tyres with my 17 inch rims on. Will aim for 1.15 next time with my current sussy set up.

no, as long as your oil is around the recommended viscosity range you should be fine.... just make sure your oil is topped up if needed before you head to the track.

upgrade your brake pads and check all your fluids
u wouldnt want brake fade at the end of the straight!

desent brake pads / no hand brake
good wheel alignment

Top up your oil so that it is about 2-3mm above the maximum mark when your engine has been turned off for 10 minutes.

By the end of the day, your brake fluid would have cooked. So drive home carefully.

Keep a lookout on your tyres, as you need to have enough grip to get back home, especially in the rain.

After a session, go for a cool down drive. Use your heater at high to remove heat from the coolant and try to minimise the use of your brakes to cool down the rotors, brakes and rims. Check your oil and coolant level after every session.

Bring an additional bottle of oil and a bottle of coolant.

After track day, change your engine oil, transmission fluid, brake and clutch fluid and deglaze your pads if required.
