Urgent! Car not Start and Stall!!

Hi All,

Initially my 1988 CRX stalls sometime when I am driving as normal. When it stalls when driving the manual gear cannot pick up again. The problem turns out to be serious now because frequent stalling when I drive the car. Now the car can stall anytime if I managed (sometime can't start at all) to start the engine but would stall the next minute, or even the next second.

I have checked the idle and should not be the problem.

I realized that one of my spark plugs was soaked with engine oil. I then changed the spark plug and the rubber seal to stop it from leaking in. I also changed the spark plug leads cos they are old anyway.

However, the problem is still there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try resoldering the main relay(check the diy section) and when it wont start check to see if you have fuel/spark.

I have positioned the PFI Main Relay but have limited room to work with thus not easily accessible. Do I need to remove the whole interior dash?

I know its in a bitch of a spot, but is can be removed. you have to be patiant

Hi again,

I managed to solder the relay and fit it back on. they car starts so smooth and runs well for while, until it suddenly jerk again which is a symptom of stalling again. The car used to pull itself to stall but now is absolutely better than before cos when it jerk it doesn't drag until the engine stalls, instead pick up and run continuously.

Any experts advice on this scenerio please? If there is a need to check ICM, what is ICM?

could you advice where the Tacho and ECU wiring are please, as my car is still stalling?

Tacho wire is at the instument cluster but dont worry about it too much cause it wont make the car stall. Pin B15 is the on the ECU goes to the ICM. Just google for diagrams if needed.
