this isnt about removing weight... but adding weight...
well since i'm in vic and its illegal to have high powered cars for p platers and myself being one. i wonder wats the best way to add about 15-20kg of weight to bring the power to weight ratio down since this car is stupidly over the limit by 1 kw -_-

Carry a 25kg bag of sand in the boot until you get your full license :D

Hey man, hate to tell you, but the power to weight is measured on the factory specs of the vehicle, unless modded!
Adding weight will not help your cause!

thats true, its based on factory specs of what the car does power-to-weight.

You can maybe ask for a exemption seeing that its only 1KW ...

Otherwise unfortunately your going to have to have a runaround for the mean time and save up for your future ride.

DW dude im in the same boat and have already been pulled over by coppers. THEY DONT KNOW SHIT! You can argue that not every engine is the same (due to a normal manufacturing process) and that to prove it they need to dyno your car!

But it wont happen because they dont know anything about hondas. Cops only know about skylines, commodrores, Falcons and silvias.

And if you're really worried get ur car de-badged. It willl confuse them even more.

Unfortunately thats not how the rule works. You can argue all you want but the more you piss them off the more they'll piss you off in return. It's not how much power your engine generates and how much your car weighs [b]now[b], but rather how much it did from the factory. If you think about it logically, the "danger factor" of a 126kW/tonne car is pretty much identical to that of 124kW/tonne in the same car.

1kW over they won't give you an exception. It sucks but it's the rule.

Move out of Victoria is one option :D

Another thing. My car is 1160kg (TARE) now this is without factory options.

If your car has factory options fitted then this weight changes. My car has Aircond and Climate control fitted as an extra. (puts weight an extra 40 kilos i think) This would bring it to 122.25kw/tonne

mmm. luckily in tas, we dont have any restrictions to P platers yet! yay for tas! hmm...yea, i rekon de badging is the best option.

So is that the limit set by the authorities? 126kw/tonne?

Well in Victoria it's 125kW / tonne; NSW doesn't have a limit like this and I don't know about any other states.

i thought it was tare weight so wateva is bolted down counts to the wieght of the car and not really how heavy it weighed when it came out of the factory?

Just scared that i might come across an actual random police road side car testing thingy where they test ur car for defects and if its legal for u to drive. b/c recently theres been heaps of that around coz of stupid hoon hang out places around where i live -_-
