would a 4-2-1 header design with a 2.5 inch collector - full 2.5 inch cat and catback exhaust system be the correct system for a vtir teg aiming for 185-195 hp atw allmotor with a power band of around 2-2.5 k sitting from about 5-7k in the rev range?

Vti-r teg?

For maximum power I would probably go 2.5" too (although some may say its too large) As long as the collector is 2." and everything else also (mandrel bent) you only have to worry about getting some good headers.

for good 4-2-1 with 2.5" collector header you should look at the toda or apexi GT spec.
Make sure that the catback is 2.5" inside diameter, mandrel bent with a straight throught muffler and designed well.
This setup will support more than 140w/kw when combined with good cams, headwork and tuning.

i already have a 5zigen 4-2-1 header with 2.5 collector, and 2.5 inch hi flo cat and straight through 2.5 inch prof cs exhaust. i was just double checking that this setup was right for my goals in terms of where i want the powerband (ie from ~5k-7.5k rpm. @ 180-190whp

Snowman.. 2.5" for B18C is what I have been recommended by all people I trust .. YES 2.25" is OK for B18C, but you will be restricting power slightly, yet still providing good scavengine characteristics for low RPM.. 2.5 screw the low RPM's and go for all out power !!

your 4-2-1 Header is best for mid-range power so that header with the 2.5" pipes should be good for your target power needs.

but for that extra 15-20 HP, you'd need cams and EMS I'd say.

Bang for Buck, for street drivability get a lightened Fly - makes world off difference to B18..

Other than that, talk to Steve at our next meet.

I think a 4-1 header would be more applicable.... You will certainly need more than just the zorst to make the power you want.
