Hi, I need my coilovers adjusted, all four dont measure up to the same height. How much will the local garge charge to lower it and get it to all even? The car didnt come with the spanner tool. any recommendations in sydney west (p'matta) area?

Also how do i check if my car has camber kit, The cars reasonably low, and the tyres wear quite evenly. Thanks

not hard.
if you don't have the spanners, you use a hammer and a chisel/screwdriver.
lol.

honestly mate... one of the magic things abuot getting coilovers is so you can adjust it yourself. i'm assuming you have your own spanner set that came with it?

all you do is get one of those water level balance rulers from bunnings and us that to measure it front ways to get the left/right balance. and sideways to get the front/rear balance.

of course you have to find a flat area to do it on which you can also use the ruler to test on ground.

the only thing you'd need to do is get a wheel alignment at a tyre place after...

$300 to fix the height of coilovers is far too expensive and should at the very least inlcude wheel alignment... even then thats ****ing exy...

***EDIT***
sorry just re-read and you don't have the spanner set.

you'd be best borrowing someones then tracing it and get your own made as it will cost you less than $40. Most coilover kits come with them made in alloy too as it's easier to put through a jigsaw.

If not, speak to a proper sping/suspension place as there are a few who make proper weld on coilover sleeves who can make these for you

That just means that each wheel/hub is level, but doesnt mean they each hub is balanced/level relative to each other.

There is a little bit more to it if you want to do it yourself. You need to add appropriate weight as well as measure etc to get it all straight and balanced. Also remember whenever you do this that you need to balance the car keeping in mind that there will be an 80-100kg person in the drivers seat.

i accounted for that with a mate of similar weight. i remembered this coz nissan back in the days made the passenger side lower to account for said 100kg. :D

your right about the hub balance but i guarantee no place keeps in mind. coilovers were developed from track experience/data of manufacturers same as tyres. the damp/height/camber adjustability is there for on the fly tuning. normally you'd 'tune' these at the pits where it's completely flat... and even offset height/damp on one side if the track is oval/circular and angled for high speed...

also, that balance difference you speak of is minimal unless theres something wrong with it... handling will already be offset by tyre balance which cant be 100% in the first place.. even worse after one hard brake and loss of traction where a good chunk of rubber is off. same goes for camber.. pissy places like pedders can't even get perfect say.. -1 camber and toe adjustment.. it is always 0.xx off and will be after one lap anyway... i make it a habit to get the laser printout from them... but at least their honest.

fark...$300 for a freakin coilover adjustment? Get out of town...
If you're in Melb, I'll do it for you for $280 ... kekekeke
J/K. Just get a new set of C adjustment Spanner, I'm sure most aftermarket places sell them.....or maybe ... ebay???!!!???

a template is easy to create as long as you know the outside circumference of the perches.... or diameter of the whole perch measuring from the outside.

i'd actually rather make my own and make it more comfortable too :D
