1997 civic vti sedan

ok well ive searched everywhere on here and i cant seem to find a simple answer for my question...im looking at purchasing a 97vti sedan and was wondering wat engine is under the bonnet (obviously its a audm) also, what should i look out for?..are these vtec engines?? and wat is the engine code? id really appreciate this info..thanks guys!

thanks man, well maybe i can make use of this now, i checked out a 94vti civic..i relli want a vtec model..and from what i have found the 94 is the last of the civic with vtec (in a sedan) am i right?? i test drove one and was goign to buy it but would u beielve there was people there at the same time that bought it while i was on teh drive!..haha...oh well had abit of high km's for me anyway..neways that thing hammered all the way to like 7k revs..i dint push it passed red line or to fuel cut but how far will it go?...are there any stock ek's sedans with vtec??...neways thanks for the help guys..

Yes. EK Vti has vtec, but it's economy vtec (12v to 16v switch, 88 kw).
Only EJ Coupe Vti has the real 16v SOHC vtec (93 kw).

I believe overseas they have whats called a Ferio which is an EK sedan with a b16a in it :)
