is there any gain for changing throttle body (butterfly valve)? for example from 60 mm standard to a 68 mm bored.

what are the advandtages of this. and what are the disadvantages?

cheers

more air in i guess.

Probably loose a bit of low down pickup but you should gain it back in the top end.

not really unless you get your IM ported to the new TB size. Then a lil tuning would not go astray.

It's all about combination and balance. What Claymore said is a good starting point but to truly see the gains an upgraded throttle body can do it really does need to be considered in combination with other mods.

you ability to make use of a larger throttle body will depend on the rest of your motors ability to flow the air.

IHE help to flow air, cams help to flow air, head work help to flow air, as mentioned here its like part of a system. This of your motor as an air pump, thats all it is.

Throwing on just a bigger TB may make you lose power and response as it isnt tuned to the standard ecu and parts.
