Just wondering if headers off a 5th gen prelude will fit the 4th gen motor the motor is in a 1994 Accord so that may complicate things but any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Dude you have to be more specific... If the motor out of an Accord, it would prob be a F22, The headers from a 5th gen could be from a H23 or H22.. So find out what engine they are coming off, and going on to!

The headers are for a BB6 Type s H22a (97-01) and i want to put them on a h22a which is in my 94 accord and the engine is from a 94 prelude.
Cheers.

i think the flanges should be the same, but im not sure if the headers lead to where they need to lead

might be worth ringing a exhaust place and see what they say?

just another option..

need to watch the type-s headers as they are slightly different design to the Aust vtir headers. engines are both H22A so should line up directly on the block, but the Type-S header has a slightly shorter design on the second section than the standard one.

Thanks for your reply. If the second section was a bit shorter than they needed to be would it be very difficult to fit another pipe to make up the difference or would this cut into the performance?
Cheers.

the 5th gen headers are approx few inches shorter then the 4th gen so you need to get some custom exhaust work done. The flex pipe in the 5th is smaller too. Perhaps this is a good time to install a new cat or maybe upgrade the piping at the same time. Take it to a reputable exhaust shop they will sort it out no worries. Assuming your new header has a decent 2.5'' collector, make sure the new piping matches the size so it doesnt disrupt the flow.

thats cool.. you sorted out your gremlins yet? Another CD5 just rolled out the shop with a H22A starting to see a lot more nowadays

Nah not yet still not 100%. The power curve still flattens out at about 6000rpm til about 7800rpm then rolls off. Checked timing, compression, spark plugs, vtec solenoid, dynoed without air intake, without exhaust, checked throttle body was opening completely and everything was ok. Thinking of putting skunk2 stage 1 cams, valve springs and retainers, bigger throttle body, getting a custom CAI and some aftermarket headers now. Then see how it goes. Yeh there seems to be a lot more CD5 H22's now, the accords are a nice base to start with. Let me know if you've got any advice.
Cheers mate.

Did you remove the e-manage and dyno it with just the stock P13 ECU?

I haven't had a chance to just after the last time i spoke to you i had a crash then i got the car back two weeks ago, had it for a week rang scott to book it in for a dyno and the next day a girl came straight through a roundabout and smashed into me so it's getting fixed again. But when i get it back i'll dyno it without the e-manage.

Hey Bao just found out that the accord auto ecu is still in the car do you think that i could have any effect on the dyno readings?

yes definitely the factory redline on the accord ecu is around 6500 rpm that explains why!! The code on the ECU most likely be POA or POB if its VTEC. the Correct code should be P13. Sounds like the emanage was hooked up to richen up the fuel mixture. The ignition/fuel tables of the SOHC F22B engine isn't going to give you the best performance. Get yourself a OBD1 ecu remap or look into a Hondata S300

Nah i've got the p13 in it just the automatic ECU is from the accord. But when i get it back i'll try a new p13 in it without the e-manage and see how it goes.
Thanks mate.

fyi bb6 type-s headers have a 2.25-2.3" collector. as mentioned the b-pipe is shorter so it's best to put these headers on when you get a new cat & exhaust. but that said you may want to invest in some higher quality headers with bigger piping than the type-s.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah i'm thinking of getting some mugen ones. Just trying to find out which ones will give the best results for the money.
Do you have any recommendations on headers for the h22a?

synthetic

mugen are the same pipe size, what's your budget?

Luke Accord

No real budget just whats gonna give me the best performance. But hopefully less than $1500.

send a pm to wpn.22r, he may be able to help you with a set of custom headers. other than that, you'd probly be best looking into smsp headers however I'm not sure if you'll be able to get them into aus for under 1500, might be right on the mark or a bit over.

Whats your opinion on fujitsubo headers?
Compared to mugen?

hey dude sorry for the late reply totally forgot about this thread. I have no experience with the fujitsubo, however from reviews I've read it's jasma approved and very similar to the mugen. so yea I'd go custom if you plan on having 2.5" exhaust piping.
