a 4ch would be perfect since it can power up both pairs of front and rear speakers.. which model depends on your listening style and budget. Also, have you invest on some sort of sound deadening?

no offence, but did u actually consult a car audio expert before you bought ur current gear? coz even for a novice you seem to be quite clueless so i suggest u go down to a reputable car audio shop (not jb, strathfield etc.) to get some proper advice on where to go from here. :)
anyway, ide need more info like the speakers/head unit ur running to give accurate advice but generally, if ur after good sq, ude get a 2-channel amp to power the front splits and leave the rears running off the h/u. depends if ur after sq or spl as well (that sub is more of an spl sub).

hi markasia. do u know how many rca plugs your headunit has? usually in the manual if u dont know off hand. if you're going 4-channel (for front and rear) + your monoblok for ur sub, your h/u has to have 3 rca...being 1 for fronts, 1 for rears, and 1 for your sub.
Are you getting front splits? meaning front speakers, tweeters and crossovers (the set). if you're just getting 2 speakers only (not splits), i'd just run it using the h/u (no amp). if you're going that way, get at least a 3-way fronts and if you can find a decent 4-way rears (like the pioneers) then i would go for them.
Once your sub is in, your fronts and rear wont matter that much to be honest - then again depends on the power of your sub and amp. around 200wRMS for a sub and a 250wRMS amp will do u just fine (i would always go with a more powerful amp than the sub/speakers).
and yes, consider some deadening like dynamat and also the spray (which u can buy from supercheap). hope that helps. if i am incorrect with anything, pls correct me.

If u have 3 RCA outs and u running good front & rear speakers then it's probably good to use a 4 channel amp. Give us a price range and what speakers u have and ppl can suggest a few amps for u to look at.
Just a short list
For around $400ish u'll be able to get an Alpine MRV-F345 which is a great amp on sound quality at this price range.
If u lookin for something abit cheaper around $300 mark, The Jaycar Response 4 x 100rms would defintely be one of the best BFYB amps.

there u can compare and also be able to get good deals. like zeus_civic has said, depends on your budget. let us know how much it is and i can have a look around for you myself. i only charge a minimum fee of $20/minute for my services. LOL :D

huh? i take it u mean dont amp stock speakers... in which case yes, there is not alot of point, u may as well run them off the h/u...
also, what do you mean by 'crossovers'? an actual crossover is the device that is used with a pair of split speakers and has absolutely no application on its own... if u were referring to speakers, then $40 is an extremely small amount and wateva u buy for that will sound horrible... generally, if u go to strathfield, u will be disappointed (ive had multiple bad experiences with them in the past).
again, its not exactly clear wat ur referring to here tho so feel free to elaborate. :)

you can get a $250 amp/12" sub/box combo at autobarn and i reckon they're great! shitty little amp they give u (200w) but enough on its own to power the sub

lol soz man, I meant if you want less distortion on your speakers use those lil crossover boxes which take out and bass, if you connect to amp you might A) Blow them or B) wont be enaugh power for your subs (always bridge your sub ALWAYS!)

honestly, now im even more confused...
'those little crossover boxes which take out and bass'?
'always bridge your sub'? - i assume u are r referring to using multi-channel amps to power subs here? and wat r u on about with 'blowing' things?
excuse my ignorance here but maybe u cood go thru exactly wat ur trying to say here... :)

I agree with Vinnie, I'm a little confused too :)
Maybe serpo is referring to components, which will consist of crossovers, as 'amping' stock speakers may very well blow them if you really crank up the volume.
As you already have a sub and a monoblock amp the next thing you should do is upgrade at least your front speakers before putting in an amp. Best to get a 4 channel amp as you can bridge the channels to power only the front speakers to get the most out of them. Your rear speakers only need to act as fill for good sound, unless you always carry passengers and want them to have good sound too. Make sure the RMS output for your amp exceeds or at least matches the output for the speakers, as otherwise you run the risk of driving your speakers to clipping if the power of the amp is less than the speakers. May also hurt the amp too.
With this setup you won't need to bridge any channels to power your sub as you have the monoblock.

lol soz again lol, ok umm if you amp the Speakers with a multi channel you have more chance of blowing speakers because there not meant to be amped to the max, I'm talking multi channel, so sub = 2 channel amp, 2 subs = 4 channel amp

ok slightly clearer now but i dont believe ur correct stating u have a higher chance of 'blowing' speakers, only if the system is poorly tuned will u risk doin damage to components... generally, more power is better (although excessive power is unnecessary). for example, im currently feeding splits rated at 60wrms 150wrms of power and they sound great.
secondly, if u are running a sub a mono channel amp is a superior option as they are designed for it, multi channel amps are not as well suited. and trying to run 2 subs off a 4 channel amp will put a lot of strain on it and there are much better options/configurations than that neway. :) moot point neway tho coz in the original post the guy states he already has a mono...

yeah the car audio expert recommended me to buy a 4 channel amp, same model like my monoblock to power the front and back speakers, but i wanted to see what you guys recommend as well.
this is the gear that ive got so far:
Pioneer DEH-P80RS Competition Deck
6" Infinity Components Speakers 225w
6x9 Pioneer Yellow Cone TSD681S 330w
Pioneer PRSD1000 amp Ice Monoblock
Kicker 10" L7

why did u buy aftermarket 6x9's when ur running a sub/amp? its not really neccessary... if the person you talked to recommended a 4 channel amp so u cood use 2 channel for the infinities and the other 2 for the 6x9's ide wouldent agree with that.
the sub will do a more than adequate job for bass so spending $$$ on aftermarket 6x9's and power to run them was not warranted imo, stock would have sufficed (im runnning my stock 6x9's of the h/u. u dont sit in the back so its all u need).
in any case, as long as it sounds good to you thats all that really matters :) congrats on ur purchase.
