Alternator + Weird elec issues..

Hi there,

Got some funny problems with a 89' JDM CRX SiR.

1. Car hunts on idle. Cleaned IACV, fast idle valve..no change..can't find any obvious vacuum leaks or leaks in the inlet manifold gaskets/tb

2. Alternator/Cat/Door lights all come on when driving.. Funny thing is they turn OFF once you past 5000..but no VTEC kicking in..

3. Alternator is shafted and is only putting out 8-9volts so will be replaced..anyone got a spare lying around? Not sure if this is the cause of #2.

Anyone had any similar issues with the lights coming on..but turning off after vtec changeover point??

id say for number 1 its your air box is not taking in enaugh or 2 much, try when your idle gets to high to bring the accelerator peddal back toward you my CRX does that alot now cos of new engine pisses me off lol

number 2 sounds like altanator problems but dunno man im fair lame withthat sorta stuff
