i use an rb20det turbo (t3) very easy to track down and pretty cheap, not much turbo lag either. but very easy to replace if i need to

t28bb, it'd be newer and more response, less lag, and enough to crank 190kw atw.

Plenty varients of the t28 out there, same goes for the t3. Which ones are you comparing?

i beleive using the t28 from the SR20 series will have more parts available than the t28 from the RB series! but all depends on which one you got?

its only a flange. there will always be parts available.
either just use what u got or get a something that actually suits your application.

t28 imo... alot of t3s are junk and have ceramic rear wheels and a pretty much dead in the water if you go higher then the factory boost setting on the actuator

From experince you wont have any trouble running a t28 off sr20 of of rb20 at 10-14psi before you trash the ceramic rear wheel
i ran the t28 on 14psi on my rb20det r32 for over 2yrs before i took it off to upgrade and was still mint when i sold it.

cant you get a adjustable flange plate to convert from t28 to t3?

or get the manifold made up with the t28 plate from the start.

yes u can .. its not that hard to make .. just have a thick plate a cut n drilled.. sound dodgy but some ppl make it :)

but wit the t-3 manifolds dont they have external gate ports can i just block that port and cut the t3 flange and weld a t2 one instead?

which manifold ur talking about first?
usually t3 comes with internal gate. so you wont need external gate.

some t3 manifolds does comes with extgernal gate. which u can close it up :)

the manifold that i have seen advertised are t3 that have external ports on them have seen many t3 manifold with internal gates also cant seem to find any manifold to suit a t2 on the market except for custom ones

u can get a rubber clamp which will let u run a t2 turbo on a t3 manifold. then u just simply put a blocking late over the external wastegate port and and use the builtin internal wastegate.. Just make sure the manifold has a mirror finish. it means its been treated with heat glazing to stop it from cracking..

Allows you to run a t25/28 turbo on t3 manifold and vice versa, use whatever turbo suits you best.
