my model integra (da3) is fitted with torsion bar + shock absorber suspension instead of regular spring and shock absorber combination.
these torsion bars are adjustable, so i've lowered the car as much as i can, but it tends to bottom out quite frequently.
now, theoretically, if i were to remove the stock shock absorber and custom fit coilovers, that should reduce the rate of bottoming out (as the suspension is now stiffer)
does that sound logical, or have i missed something vitally important. remember, both torsion bar and coilovers will be adjustable

lol funny to find you here!
If you remove the shocks then you will be sitting on the springs only. Any up/down movement will mean the car will continue to bounce as there’s no shocks to absorb the movement and suppress it.
If anything i thought you would need to put stiffer shocks to prevent bottoming out?
or have i missed something vitally important? :)

sorta... the coilover set up is shocks and springs in a single, adjustable unit.
so in effect, i would have t-bar/spring/shock suspension

I'm no expert on torsion bars but although they are adjustable for height, the effective rate or stiffness will not change unless the diameter of the bar is changed.
So, fitting stiffer shocks will improve things in the short term, but I suspect they will wear prematurely due to excessive travel from a less that adequately stiff torsion bar.
Talk to Whiteline or Pedders for expert help if no here can help.

okay, this is what i've gathered so far, and the question that is yet to be answered.
- standard t-bar + standard shock = adequate for regular ride height
- lowered standard t-bar + standard shock = ineffective for daily travel
- lowered standard t-bar + stiffer shock = adequate for daily driving in the short term
- aftermarket t-bar + stiffer shock = adequate for lowered daily driving
- lowered t-bar + adjustable coilovers = ?????

i had a da3 integra and i understand what your going through.......
what i did was i used factory brand new torsion bars (if i had done some more reasearch i would have used aftermarket 24.5 or 27 mm torsion bars, which you can find here: http://www.g1teg.org/ as the standard ones are only 19mm and too soft for thje dumped height your looking for which i had)
anywayz i also used munroe flex shocks for the front and had some rubber mounts fitted inside and had the bump stop lowered so it stopped bottoming out, but when it did bottom out the rubbers stopped the really hard whacking...
i was about to experiement and use a coilover front end, but rob at suspension centre in melb was going to use the shocks, t-bars and a coil over kit to have the travel in the shocks slow down the bounce...or the other option was to buy some konis for a crx and modify them to suit the da3 and use them, because they have obviously the adjustible damper...
if you call and speak to rob at suspension centre on 03 9356 4591 and tell him about tommi's grey integra with the t-bar front, he can tell you all about it.....
by the way: the only reason i didnt go ahead and do the coilover front or koni modified shocks was because i found my dream dc2r........
Mine was also a daily driver........i took it every where.......
