hey guyz...quick question...

how the F u get the gear knob off.??
to my knowledge..its just a simple twist right ?

not the previous owner fitted a typ r look a like gear knob on it..and also, the stick..(where the gear knob sits on) is a slight maron and shiny colour.
It also has a quick shift installed.

how do i take off thge gear knob??

twist...twist with all your might! (anti-clockwise)

could be one of those short shifters that have the gearknob already stuck on it...

a few drops of WD40 and a good ole twist should do the trick, else it could be like what dr4gon mentioned - and that would be obvious to spot :)

if it one piece, it would be obvious to spot because its look all seal up and if its detachable, you don't have to be pulling coz you meant to be twisting it- i don't recall, calling on elephant strength to remove the knob ;)

or would you like to take a pix for a better idea of what your exasperation maybe ;)

Hmm if it's an alloy short-shifter and an el-cheapo type R knob copy, i'd say the knob has become threaded, and then he's ****ed it RIGHT up and then has had to glue it on with araldite or similar hard-core resin-based glue... have seen this knob problem on a mate's civic but thankfully he didnt glue it on.. but yeah like Tanghy Said, take a photo or we are all just guessing..

If it isn't coming off don't force it and totally **** things up. Take it to someone that will be able to remove it like a workshop.

put a cloth over it for protection then use multigrips.

does it have a nut underneath the knob? you prob need an adjustable wrench to take it off.
