Door light on dash

Hi, I have a honda civic sedan 1999 and I can't remember if the light on the dash comes on when the car door is either open or loss, as my one doesn't turn on when the doors are open. It only comes on when the boot is open.
Could someone please let me know if its suppost to come on? If its suppost to come on, would anyone know whats wrong with it and how to fix it?

I think with my EK Civic the light on the dash came on when the door was open, 1999 is an EK right?

its not a type R. Just GLI
Yeah the interior light come on when i open the door. Just not the red light on the dash.

GLI/cxi/vti ( i think) is ek1, ek4 is vti-r and ek9 is type 4

meh i wouldnt worry about it - it used to come on in my Vti-R EK but if it doesnt in ur car dont worry :)

some hondas only have the "boot open" light and not the "door open" light.

look at ur cluster harder and try to find either both or just the one. the signal light is self explained dude.

Thanks its solved, like JDM_kid said its only a light for the boot.
