Which way is for adjusting stiffness/softness of shock absorbers?

I have recently bought some shockies and the dampening readings have faded off the top so I'm just wondering which way ie. Clockwise/counter clockwise for adjusting the strength of the shockies?

depends which one u using... usually when u turn all the way anti its the softest
