wow :D i just did the black housing paint today ...

looks greate... and took some picture...

wonder anyone need me write up a HOW TO...

no pics today since left the camera at my cousin's place. lol.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok now i got my camera back ... and just found out that the pic ain't help much on the hOw To... but i will write it anyway

HOW TO PAINT YOUR HEAD LIGHT TO MAKE IT JDM for 6Gen accord
tools need....
hum... some spanner....
and oven
BBQ paint
Glove...
turpentine...

lots more can't remember... keke

and b4 u do it ... plz remember u r doing it on ur own risk

1st
you have to take off your head light out of your car...
to do this, you have to take off your front bumper first in order to get access to the 3 of the 4 screws that holds the light in place

then take out the 2 head lights

2nd
now you need to open up the head light case...

to do this ... you will pre-heat your oven to 150C.
then put your head light in for 5 minz...

then take it out .. (remember to wear gloves... the light will get really hot) and use ur strength (it reqired a lot of strength) to pull the lense and the base apart... (remeber there r a few small clips holding them... just lift them up a bit and pull a bit and the will come apart)

when i did this ... there r melted silicon which sticked to some part of the light... to remove it ... i used terpentine... and remember don't rub too hard coz it will rub off the original paint as well

3rd
after you have seperated the housing... ... ...
you can c... the high and low beam reflector is attached to the base which u don't need to take it out...

and the parking and front grill of the housing is attatched to the lense.
here is the foto of the HL grill (actually i don't know what they called. but i just assume they r called as the GRILL lol)

there r 2 screws that holds the parking light housing and the grill to the lense. so you need to unscrew them and then u can take out the parking housing and the grill.

4th
now you just need to mask the parts that you don't want to paint and paint it ... with heat resistance paint.

but before you paint .. clean the paint surface with degreaser....

and while using degreaser don't rub too hard or they will even remove the chorm paint.
i personally paint the corner light and the grill and part of the high and low beam reflector ( the parts which don't really affect reflection)

http://members.optusnet.com.au/villemus/resized/Resize%20of%20Copy%20of%20DSCF0508.JPG

but if you feel lazy .. just paint the grill .... since it cost a lot of time to mask the high/low beam reflector.. and need a bit of clean up after paint if the maksing was not done perfectly.

5th
now after paint, wait... let dry out for an hour.. and re-recoat.....

then ... let dry again .. take off the masking tape....

and clean up edges that was over painted... (by using turpentine--this is what i used)

6th
after all ...
you can let them dry a bit more.. but i just put them back straight away.

how?? same as the way you pull it apart.. just put them back in position first, then bake them for 5 minz again.. then push the lense and the base back in it's original position.

if you worried that it may not seal properly... just get some silicon seal... and seal again...

and that's probably it ... here are some more random foto.

NIce!

Why not do a small write up and submit it to the DIY forum (http://www.ozhonda.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=32)?

I can host the pics for you if you want!
