im pretty sure i've read that with the asr brace on a EK civic, you can fit either the ek9 or dc2r swaybars... just want to confirm as i cant find the information atm
so question is. can a AUDM ITR rear sway bar fit straight on to a EK with a ASR brace?

thanks in advance guys

yes it will, the sway bar will fit no worries. but you'll need to use EK endlinks on the sway bar.

how thick are the ctr and itr sways?

so wat your saying is :

ctr or itr sway + ek end links + asr kit = perfect on eks

is that eks that already have sways or that dont? or doesnt matter?

ITR swaybar is 22mm. There are some that are 23mm.

Doesnt matter, if yours come with a sway bar already just use the end links of it.

yep it fits. and nope doesn't matter. probably a big waste of money when a whiteline kit is less then half the price. but if you want bling it's a MUST! lol

Yes to above.
When installing a BEAKS or ASR kit they both will suit all EK's. The subframes are the same , as you have to drill out the mounting points on the
subframe OR drill holes lower depending on the kit (beaks or asr).

Ben, that is not the case on all ek's. Some are a straight bolt on - no drilling required.

I should be exact -

For the ASR kit -
EK4 and EM1's require the mounting holes to be drilled out. This is to allow the bolts to grip firmly and properly to the reinforcement behind.
I believe you CAN leave it , but it made strip the thread of the bolts as you tighten the bolts through it.
For the BEAKS kit , you need to drill an extra hole thru the bottom of the subrame for the lower bolt to go thru. (below the 2 mouning holes either side)I believe this is the case for all EK's.

Anyway a BEAKS or ASR kit + ITR or CTR swaybar is a good combo :)

u cant exactly drill the holes for the EK as from memeory the ek aSR block lower bolt is threaded

for the ek beaks kit u need to drill into the subframe, no choice there

ok just to clear up for me cause i'm a bit slow, so if i have ek4 endlinks i can use those to put a ek9 sway no probs? is this the same for the brackets that hold it on the subframe?

barefootbonzai

if you get a complete ek9 sway bar with the "D" shape mounting brackets that's all you need. Cause ek9 and ek4 end links are the same. You only need to use your ek4 endlinks if you can only get a ITR sway bar.

Of course you'll need the ASR brace to mount either.

ok cool, so ek4 endlinks i can use, but not the d shape mounting brackets. i should use the ones that come with the ek9 sway.

well the ek9 sway should be larger then ur ek4 im hoping so ud have to use the D bushes from the EK9

if u buy a COMPLETE EK9 sway bar with the endlinks u can throw away ur ek4 ones

can you use the ek4 bolts from the d mounts for the ek9 d mounts? i'm only getting the sway and d mounts, no endlinks.

for the ITR sway, don't you need adaptors so you can use the ek endlinks? as recommended by ASR

Yes, you need adaptors. Otherwise the EK endlink won't bolt to the ITR sway bar.

u get everything with the ASR kit.

all you need is EK4/9 endlinks and ITR/CTR sway bar...

check the ASR website out if you are really interested.. it has even installation instructions

pretty sure the ITR bar itself will not work on the ek4. Its a slightly different design with the bends and does not clear parts of the car properly.

The ek9 one should be fine with the ASR kit.
ASR kit comes with all bolts and bits needed. If your gonna get the ASR might as well get the 22mm whiteline swaybar, its better than the CTR or ITR swaybar and the whole reason you get the ASR in the first place

the dc2r sway bar fits the ek + asr bar. you need endlinks from ek4/ek9. thats it

if you read the article/manual online from asr, they say the same thing aswell. they used a bigger 23mm bar from jdm itr and mounted it with ek endlinks
