ok guys,
i got a pair of lips from scyt7e. ctr style with hardware etc. i have tried fitting them on but i am lost. i know it should be simple but something just doesnt seem right. its being put onto an ek1. i wanted to put them on to make sure they fit before being painted.can anyone gimme hints on how to put them on? and with the rear lip, if i put it on, there will be anothing semi circle on the lip for the exhaust to go and there is already a semi circle in the bar the exhaust to sit in, how does this work? i will end up with two places for the exhaust to sit.

If its ctr style with hardware wat kind of hardware is it? brackets and that or just the self tapping screws?

Pretty much take your front bar off and then put the lip on and on the sides yah want to screw the lip on. Take a look at this link:

yeh i got brackets (2) and self tapping screws aswell. for the front, its got holes in the middle of the lip for screws but i don't know if screws should go there because then you can see the screw head if you know what i mean. its where the big gap in the front bar is where some people change it to mesh etc.

The bit where the rear lip sits i.e the semi circle sits on the same bit so they overlap... unless u have a aftermarket muffler then things start to get complicated. If u want i can show u detailed pics of mine and how it sits perfect. though mine was glued on and i did it at a professional bodykit shop. : :(

lol also u got hardware, all lips sold arent supposed to come with hardware. it was a favour

aye u got any more problems give me ur mobile number i'll give you a ring to sort this out

don't think there should be holes in the middle =/ well i have the ctr 99-00 model lip so mines a bit diff but i have seen a couple of the other members here n i dont recall seeing a hole =9 look at this pic here:

http://www.jdmshit.com/parts/exterior/96ctrlipOE.jpg

prolly just mount the sides up and see how flush it looks first.

and information on rear lip install:
http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=89897

but yeah if its aftermarket it might be better to go to a bodykit shop and get it glued on =)

if you don't want to drill holes try using some double sided tape. that's what i did. The more permanent solution is stickaflex.

i think i got it now guys.....thanks for the help. i just thought lips went directly under the bar and not slightly overlapping. is it that much better to get it proffesionally done? because now that i got the idea, i can do it. but is it worth is to get a pro to do it? is there a real difference in the quality in the end?

If it is a genuine lip then you should be able to install it easily yourself.

no harm in trying to put it on first n seeing how it fits =P if it looks good to you then dont worry about pro bodykit shop
