hey guys im stuck in a problem...
ive got a choice of...
Continental contact sport 2
or
Toyo proxs T1R

which ones better in handleling but more importantly tread wear?
ive looked at the tread wear rating and its really BS atm for me...
i had 340s nexan as tread wear and had proxs 280 and proxs lasted heaps longer ...
anyone with experience can help me with any of the tyres??
i got the continental ones on atm but they say i can swap with them on monday latest...
TOYO-205-40-16
continental 225-40-16

cheers

I would go the T1R for tyre choice, but as for wear rates not entirely sure which would be better.

continental....

they use them on all the top of the line cars for a reason :)

Yeah it's probably because they pay them a lot of money :D Take a look at any professional racing leagues, their tyre choice is not who is the best, rather, who gives them the most money.

i had conti's on my civic (well only reason is because my grandpa imports them 2 auz)

but they where ***n awesome!!!

made the lil beast handle really well!!!!!!

i would get them for my dc2r but my next tyres r gona be semi's so they cant help me there....

my personal preferance for road tyres is continental (sportscontact series only) as they are truely awesome tyres... they other conti's such as the premuimcontact or woteva is just for the brand name....

iv driven jags with conti's and without and they handle much better with and same with many other cars as i deal with them at my work (trivett mechanic)

Not really....Ask your grandpa where he can get the ContiCompetition C1 in...
As I remember, they only have 2 compound choices though...still it should still be DOT approved...

lol... continental arent 'cheap' hahaha

remember not 2 skimp out on tyres... its the only thing holding u on the road... so basicly if ur riding on cheap tempe specials or woteva and u come in 2 a situation where u need 2 swerve, brake hard or woteva... ur not gona come out of the situation very happy :(

On the street, go Conti. They grip good, are safe in the wet and quiet too. But they are not cheap, so if you go track, get another set of cheaper tyres to use.

If it was me, I'd get good tyres, but not at the level of Conti. I'd get Yokohama C.Drive, which have a 300 treadwear rating. They grip as good in the wet, but in the dry, the Contis will beat them. Cheap too at about $200 for 205/55 R16
