hey
i have a b18c and it is using a heap of oil (2 litres a month). it is comming from my exhaust, it spits out on idle and there is a small amount of smoke when it revs.as it revs higher it spits out more oil.

could this be valve stem seals?

im lost as to what it could be.i have an avo turbo kit ready to bolt on but dont want to until my oil problem is fixed. so if anyone has come accross this problem, how was it fixed?

Valve stem seams
Valve guides
Piston rings

hmmmm no really easy way to diagnose without opening things up man...

Is it actually spitting out oil on idle? r u sure its oil? if it is then you got a major ass problem dude

PCV valve too. A stronger PCV can reduce the amount of oil blown into the combustion chamber.

I doubt that it would be spitting out actual oil out of the exhaust... probably just water mixed with the crap in the exhaust...

yep that stuff spitting out the muffler is usually carbon - car is running rich/er than normal ( common on cold start up etc)

Yeah move up to 15w40 if you are currently using 10w30... That should help it...

Don't recommend but you could go up to 20w50 if you really want but I would say that it's probably a tad too thick for Honda motors...

I use 20w50 on older diesel motors that burn too much oil on 15w40

but if you go turbo you might need to move to a 20w50 though
