got pulled over on saturday on william st in northbridge for RBT n then the cops were like checking out my car. they sed it was too low. also didnt help that i had a rear passenger and a carton of beer in the back too. the rear tires were like tucked into the guards haha. then they told me i need to get the ride height, exhaust and filter checked out. i have king super low springs. the ride height really isnt that low. theres 2 finger space in the front and 1 or 1.5 fingers in the back unloaded. do u think i can pass?

man they were even checking my indicators, brake lights, seat belts and seat. then they told me that any modification needs a permit? ermmm... wtf...
they were acting like a bunch of communists.

also i have so spare tire and my sub box isnt exactly secured. will these b a major issue? oh yeh... and my input shaft bearings are noisy. will that cause problems passing the vehicle examination?

anything not stock or OEm is considered to warrant a canary.
unless its engineered:)

man that sux... lol. forgot if it was the next day or just after i had got a canary. there were sum old holden wagons done up hot rod style. and one had an exhaust exiting from infront of the rear wheel at the side. and it was spitting flames when it was slowing down for the traffic light haha. like there were other cars more heavily modified than mine that didnt get pulled over. i guess it was just bad luck haha.

the second you get pulled over for a "RBT" in a modified car....your screwed!

the world "random" doesnt mean what it should...it means you were "randomly" the only car we could make something up to defect you for.

I dont know about perth but in Melbourne things are silly.

Ride hight = 100mm minimum at the lowest point of the car
Air Filter = Legal IF that is the ONLY intake modification
Sub Box = Must be bolted down (along with amps etc...)
Spare Wheel = Needed.
Shaft Bearings = Not sure

If you're not sure about the ride high get it checked out with just u in the car without extra weight (ie: people).

Or you could bolt your sub down? It stops it rolling around, and its legal. Which would be nice, seeing as cops can look at forums like these :-)

make sure u dont bolt/drill in 2 ur petrol tank as it is directly under ur boot... iv heard of some rather 'intelagent' guyz at strathfield and the like drilling in 2 ppls petrol tanks... Lol

but yer should bolt it down and do everything so its legit.. nothing better then getting pulled over and prooving that everything is legal :)

hahaha feels good :P

u need to be 10cm off the ground to be legal

how would you bolt the sub box down if basically the timber tray (which is on top of spare wheel) is in the way? i mean id have to rip whole thing out to access my spare tyre

you can get straps from any audio place that allow you to secure the sub-box. You basically screw one end into the box and the other onto a spare hole in the boot or a false floor if you have one - do it in a couple places and youre set.

Getting pulled up for an RBT doesn't necessarily mean you'll get checked and yellowed. If they notice something suss with the car or occupants of the car - you'll get picked ie: passenger with a bottle of beer in his/her hand or open carton in the back - thats when they get picky.

And always a good idea too... don't be a smartass! you don't have to say 'yes sir, no sir' but dont try and act cool in front of your mates.

Sorry to hijack. But what if your car is like 13-15cm off the ground and then you put on mudflaps which are only 5cm off the ground. Is it still a defect?

i thinks its all points of the car must be above that height... so u may get caught...
