Hi there,
Just want to ask for people's experience with angel eyes headlights.
Thinking about replacing stockie headlights with them was wanted to know if it's any good, things for look out for, maintenance, best place to get them, etc...
Also what are people's thoughts on getting them on ebay? :)
Cheers

yeh ebay US is the best place to get em (for a very reasonable price). watch out though with halos coz they have a tendency to die. mine didnt last very long.
try ebay australia first. if u want a bigger selection, try:
www.motors.ebay.com
when u get there, just type your model + the word headlights (but try different combinations), for example:
civic headlights
civic head lights
got it? have u bought from ebay b4?

I've read that US ones are different to the Aus ones cause of different driver side and wires are not right?
I saw these ones on ebay but not sure if these are the good ones...

Mine were from US, i've had it for 2 years now and no problems at all (with the cops, wiring, etc). The only thing is that the halos dont work anymore and the plastic housing is starting to turn yellow (that's what u expect wid cheap non-genuine aftermarket parts).
if u can find a genuine JDM heads with black housing, then that would be ideal.
That eBay seller looks good. Always look at the rating, which in this case is 99.5% positive and they have sold 1,952 items. Very good feedback rate. And being in NZ, it makes it alot easier in terms of shipping and payment. Your car will look sweet with those heads. Good luck!

you can actually adjust the lense so that it points the light in the direction that u want it to. and yeh the plugs are different so u'll need to split the wires.

I'd have to agree with you there X. I've seen some EGs with angel eyes and they look sex, cause it's so slim line but EKs looks a little bit too fat.
Nonetheless I'm always on a lookout for accessories that are better than stock, especially stockie EK headlamps... I just find it having terrible light spread and distance... even with above average bulbs like the blue vision that I'm using atm.

angel eyes cannot use HID, the projector's lens are not designed for HID.

I used to use it as well.
Problem I found is, if you put bulbs that shines white, it doesn't shine bright at all. hardly can see it.
another thing is, if you ever want to change the bulb, you will need to take off the bumper bar too.

u should be able to use HID on angel eyes, just need to customise it by placing a plate to support it from the lamp
Phat, if you get them get lids look heaps nice! hehehe what colour is your car?

Are angel eyes legal or will they make the car unroadworthy?

I dont believe that it will make the car unroadworthy as when I bought my accord with angel eyes, it passed the road worhty test. I even had an RACQ check on it and they werent fussed with the angel eyes. But in QLD, it is illegal to have blue lights at the front of the car - this means no blue angel eyes allowed. not worth it coz its $150 fine here. And YES, as much as how cops are clueless about what's legal/illegal with modz, they KNOW about the blue lights being illegal....coz i got pulled over twice about it recently (blue park lights). :D

Usually angel eyes use white LED, that appears to be white-bluish.
its fine in Melb. i use to turn it on only the angel eyes, and cops don't care about it.
