Hay guys, i recently got my windows tinted, i got 35% and i want them 2 be darker, is there a way i can have them darker without having to re do them?, my friend said he saw something on the mx6 forum (althought i may add it was an american based forum) that was like a spray on type thing, which makes them darker... that sounds weird to me... but im wondering if anyone has heard of any way to make your tints darker without having to re-do them.. thanks heaps guys.

^^um.. it's the same thing? and it's illegal anyway... was just answering your spray on question.

take jdm_rocks#3s advice above... his brother is good and has done quite a few peoples cars across a few clubs... he's done mine recently too and can vouch for the work.

just a question about the double tinting... if you get two layers of 35% does that still count as legal or not????

lol definently no, coz obviously another layer will make it darker, and anything darker than 35% is deeeeeeefeeeeeeeeeect

another noob question then......if you get darker than legal (say 15-20%) where does the responsibility of the installer stop if you get pulled over by the cops?
Do you have to sign a waiver?
Do you still get a reciept for the work done?

They are just providing the service, it's completely your problem if it's legal or not. Ignorance is not a defence. There's plenty of legal applications of < 35% tint - just not on public roads. Lots of people get away with darker than legal tints, but that's the risk you need to decide to take or not. I don't know about you but I definately don't want my windows to be saying "i'm illegal" when an insurance representative comes to check out my car if I make a claim.

For NSW it is 35% after 1994, but if you have a receipt with a pre-1994 date then it's legal as there was no restriction (I have5 % on all windows except front, I've researched this.

I'm on 8% lol did it from the TGZ guy. Had stock tinting and threw on another 20% ontop and yeah turned out to be 8% of something.

If you can find window tint from other countries.. probably u can find the ones that is 35% .. u can see clearly from inside .. but it looks like more than 35% from outside (cant really see thru) .. but I am not sure it will be legal or not here.. but there are definitely heaps of choices at other countries like msia or indonesia..

best advice is to go to 35% still.. it looks dark enough on my dc5r.. at nite noone can see what I am doing inside anyway!!
