Hey guys,

just helping out a friend who has a dc5 auto. She has told me that her "drive" gear is flashing at the moment. I told her to check her user manual, but she replied "i don't want to pay a honda dealer for checking it out for me" which only indicates she has no idea what to do about her problem...

anyway.. anyone know what this flashing code indicates? I'm guessing transmission oil change?

any definite answer will be greatly appreciated!

Only time I had the "D" flash was when the VSS failed.

there are a couple fault codes that can be associated with flashing D light, you will need to go to Honda to check this code, most common faults include failed VSS, a loose ATF temp sensor or even a loose connection on the gauge assembly (but this only if the D light stays on, not flashing)... but I still reckon u should tell her to go to Honda since she doesn't seem to know much about it

Vehicle Stability System? LOL... just taking a wild guess...

VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Usually when that fails, you lose your speedo or it starts jumping around on its own.
