hey guys..

just a noob question.....

im not quiet sure what exhaust i should get as i want to hear the engine noise more than the exhaust...i would prefer to hear pure vtec and not the buzzing noise.

its kind of hard to explain with the buzzing noise but yeh.. hopefully someone out there will now what i am talking about.

ppl have been saying to put the stocky exhaust and wack on j's racing intake.. would that be correct?

i had a hi tech exhaust come with my car and they're pretty quiet.
but the xforce n mugen twin loops are heaps quiet aswell..

is this for just purely for the sound? or performance aswell?

and what car u driving? dc2?

yeah just leave the stock exhaust on and just use some sort of intake SRI or CAI..

yeah b18c vtec cross over sound isnt as noticeable as the b16a's..

pretty sure it's because of the difference between the intake manifold on both engines/cars

what intake you using atm?

one more thing.. is there a big difference in terms of sound between j's racing Tsuchinoko and k&n ?
jst curious as i am just after sound .

hmmmm if you want engine noise work your engine, cai's etc just make a whole lot of intake noise. i personally dont like intake noise but love the sound of a good exaust

im using the plazma-man cold air intake.

is that the whale penis one?
don't think they're that good.
but if ur just after sound should do the job.

got a stock exhaust on my ek4 with a cai off weq a while ago
nice and loud in vtec
quiet as stock putting around under 4000rpm

i've got a 2.5" xhaust system but wacked on a stock muffler vtec sounds beautiful....i had some aftermarket cannon but made too much noise so i put the stock on back on n vtec couldn't sound any better. i'm using using a ARC box intake.

btw...this is on a b18

would upgrading the intake manifold to a ITR or one like skunk2 etc on b18c2 make a difference to vtec? or engine noise?

how does this dude get such a difference from the vtec? like in the very last take off his vtec goes off its nut, my vti-r sux compared... hate his exhaust though buzzzz

did u end up listening to what he said ? lol .. his got internal work done to his whole engine etc.

oh btw.. the Vtec sounds like ahmies B16b engine & a slighty modded B18c7
