Which Ek Civic? Cxi, Gli, Vti, Vtir?

Which Crx? Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3?

Think theres enough info on the net and this site to figure your question out.

They are two very different cars with different design philosophies in mind. Maybe some clarification on what exactly you are looking for might help.

Ok, well that clarifies something, but we are still going to require more information.

What is the car going to be used for?
Stock or modified?
Why are we actually making this comparison?
etc etc

and what crx's ?

audm crx's only came as 2 seaters..
so that's a con and a pro in a way..
don't have to taxi your friends.. but when you do need to, you don't have the option..

gen 2 crx's are lighter than civics
so power to weight, crx's are better

interior wise.. ek civic is newer, so you'll have a less outdated interior over the gen2 crx..

if you were to purchase a gen3 crx..
you'll have a b16a rather than a d16 from the gli..
i.e. more power..

Generation 3 CRX's have a B16A engine, VTEC y0~!
Though it is a 2 seater, so you have to take that into consideration.
2 seater can be a bitch.

An EK4 (Civic VTi-R) has a B16A engine, is a 4 seater.
All other EK's have D-series engine, and are SOHC.

Gen3 CRX is the heaviest CRX out of the range - i'd consider it as more of a cruiser than a racer. Ad the electric roof on an import and you're got an extra 50kgs to carry around.

Altho limited in production there were some SOHC EG2 CRXs made, SOHC Vtec but all Aust delivered have the DOHC B16A motor, hydraulic clutch etc.

Benefits of this CRX is that just about any suspension and engine part fits from an EG Civic which are common, parts in terms of modifications are also readily available due to the EG/B16 build - anything from engine to coilover suspension fits over.

It is the only pure 2 seater CRX in the range as both the gen1s (83-86) and gen2 (87-91) crx have come with the option of a rear seat. Not much of a seat tho, as there is no legroom space behind the front seats - known as a 2+2 - 2 person and 2 cases.
