Went to a Honda dealer at Sutherland, Sydney yesterday to pick up some CVT Fluid for the VTI. Apart from trying to flog me the regular ATF-Z1 fluid, it took a good 15 minutes to explain to them that I wanted the Honda CVT specific fluid. The salesman had to go out and talk to the mechanics before he would believe me that it existed!!!! (although they dont use it ). Anyhow, I had to order the fluid and today I get a phone call on the answering machine stating that this Fluid is discontinued. Sounds a bit suss. Is this a fact.

P.S. Seems like some sort of conspiracy thing happening.

P.P.S Does anyone know where I can get the CVTF Fluid in Sydney. Cheers.

Okay, I tried 3 main honda dealers in Sydney, including Collins Honda Rockdale. Their workshops all have cvtf fluid in 60 litre drums, but none would supply it for sale to the public. As yet, no 4 litre or 1 litre bottles are for sale to the public, or so they said, so if you guys elsewhere around Australia are getting it you're lucky. I have no choice but to take my car to a Honda workshop to get it changed. This is a bloody joke and Honda ought to be ashamed of themselves.:thumbdwn:

Good luck have you any idea how much Honda fluids cost?

Try $370+gst for 60L drum of premixed coolant
I pay $650inc gst for 208L of Full Synthetic Pennzoil oil
Yes...Coolant is more expensive than oil!

Compare that with $60 for 60L of norm. concentrated coolant which is really like 200L once you water it down

2nd that.
=)

why do people complain so much these days, comparing hondas to lets say alfa romeos these days, hondas are much more superior in build.
all you have to do is wait a little bit till the new cvt fluid is avaibalbe to the public, right now it just ain't.
so if your paranoid, frequently change your fluid with atfz1.
simple.

Its reluctantly going to Collins Honda workshop on Tuesday. This goes against the grain, as I usually do all this sort of stuff myself.

The only reason you will require cvtf in your cvt jazz is if you are experiencing start clutch judder. Even then it is a cover up by Honda AU to get you through the warranty period with this finer lubricant.

What do you mean by cover up? CVT oil will only cover up a bigger problem? Cus I am experiencing the judder when I start accelerating from a standing position (more juddering if it's an upward slope). What should I do?

What you should do if still in warranty is get the start clutch replaced. And from then on change your maintanence schedule for cvt oil changes to a minumum of 12mths/20000km whichever comes first. With my dealer clients and home clients this is whats done and i very rarely have a start clutch issue. Its called preventative maintenance.
