hi all,

i own a black 7thgen civic sedan with 58,XXXkm on it, at the moment its stock except for a catback with xforce twinloop. its great on fuel but not exactly the most powerful thing out there.

iv done as much research as i can, and getting a k20a would cost me approx 15k and thats too much. also theres literally no aftermarket parts here in Au for my car, only in the U.S. which is out of my price range.

anyway the main point of this thread is, that im thinking of maybe selling my car and getting a eg hatch modded with a b18c7 or b18c2 conversion already done or stock then getting a conversion, or maybe just keeping my car and waiting for enough DC5R's to get demolished. hehehe

which do you guys reckon would be the best way to waste the least money as im a student and i do have a few financial concerns. lol

any suggestions would be much appreciated
thanks
Simon

p.s. if anyones interested in trading or buying my car feel free to ask haha.
cheers. :D

I've always wanted to see how far into the sea a car will go especially when you plumb up the air intake and exhaust....You could try that.. :p

Not sure how you've gone from a sensible owner of a modern civic to wanting crazy engine conversions... why don't you buy a silvia or 180sx or something?

you can do a h22a conversion to your car. they're quite cheap engine that you can just find at the jap wreckers. saw one for $300 back a while ago. but after you find everything u need for the conversion, it will prob cost you around 2-3k

im planning to buy an evo7 or 8 higher if possible, roughly around 4-5years later. but at the moment i want sumthing that will be fun to drive. the eg hatches, seem like a good choice.

yeh, i wouldnt mind a h22a, but due to the rta stupid rules, the engine needs to be newer then the chasis. also getting mounts to fit the h22a into an ES civic are difficult

if you want cheap and fun, a new car is not going to do it for you.. why honda? look to the late 80s as that's where the best power to budget ratio lies... plenty of 180s, skylines, RX7s, 300zx, etc

If you "don't really" want the civic, why limit yourself to Hondas? You haven't mentioned anything about specifically wanting a fwd or a honda.. Why muck around with engine conversions or drastic modifications when your goal isn't to be unique or develop something specific, but just get power for your money?

im looking at a honda due to hondas being good n/a mod cars. as im a P plater i cant get turbo yet. thats reason why im waiting til im over 25 to get a evo due to insurance etc. also honda aftermarket parts especially for the eg and ek civics are plentiful.
thanks for the sugesstions though Dylanamus.
