hey i just got my engine tuned up with timing and with zorst and intake mods iam making pretty good power for a light 1.6 car......the mechanic suggested he would like to supercharge my car....... he said i would get a dramatic power increase where its needed (down low) maybe i should ask him but i was wondering what sort of boost can i run on stock d16y non vtec internals... im only thinking of running around 5 or 6 psi..... or could i run abit more with stock internals.......????i only want it for alittle more spring not realy thinking or charging it for a massive increase just some thing little and maybe latter on building up internals and upping the boost....i was told around three grand i could but the charger and installed but before i have to buy a ECU around $1700 aswel...... so iam looking at $4700 for a set up with intercooler pipes and everything so is this a good price???? and at 6psi how much of an increase would i make would it be quite noticable????????
$3000 sounds ok for a basic setup install. the ECU is a bit heavy, but i think if u can get away with $4700 - intercooled - upgraded fuel system - dyno tuned - installed. not bad...
U can get away with something cheaper if u are a lil mechanically inclined. a greddy turbo kit will produce the same results for a around the 2900 mark (excluding install) - intercooled with an e-manage as ur ecu.

$2900 for a turbo kit? Do you mind listing the parts this would include?
trust (greddy) tdo4-15g kit + johnnyracecar.com 6" intercooler + RC 440cc injectors (google any of these terms, u will get details). PM me if u need a hookup on this stuff. shipping will about around 250-350USD, depending on exhange rates...

What about all the other stuff like fuel pump, intercooler piping, exaust, clutch, etc... ?
u dont need a new fuel pump. exhaust is optional (the kit fits to the stocky) but a good idea, ur stock clutch will handle under 8psi for a long time...
define "etc" and i'll tell u if u need it.
so does it mean $2900 for only turbo, intercooler and injectors?

that supercharger is too expensive. i bought two JRSC off ebay for AU $2500 each shipped from the States. One of them is one an Accord at GPC. and is working fine. the other is waiting to go into a civic
