hi people..

a squeaking noise always occurs at the back of my car when ever im driving on uneven roads or when im turning onto a slope( car park basement). Does this sound indicate that my rear absorbers are old or spoilt??

ive tried moving the subwoofer into different positions and also taking the spare tyre out but the sound is still there and its getting really irritating..

any idea what the sound could be??

thanks

boot hinges.

its the plastic covers on both side of the boot.
put a screw down and she will sit tight.

Or you can do budget style like me.

Good old electrical tape around it couple times. BINGO sound is gone. Replace when tape when sound comes back. Last for at least 6 months.

does it make a noise when u push on your rear bar?

i had the same problem, it was actually the hinges on my rear seat (the cushion passengers sit on), get your mates to sit on the back seat and go for a drive on a bumpy road, see if it still squeks

if it still squeks, get the guys in the back seat to listen to where the noise is coming from, cause it could be anything

nope it doesnt make a noise when i pust the rear bar.. i've tried puttin g my weight on the boot and all and theres no sound.. the sound only happens when im driving on uneven roads or turning onto slopes.. i always thought it was the absorbers but since so many people have the same problem maybe it is really something to do with the boot

yeap it also still squeaks :( the squeak is actually pretty loud and from the front it can be heard very clearly... the thing is even when the back seats are put down the stupid squeak is still there

jack up your car and buy some lithium grease, spray it on the body of the rear shocks where the upper half moves up and down over

umm nah i don't think so. the noises are random. i could be turning or driving straight.

I also have the exact same issue. When i got my car serviced at hannys i told em about it and they greased the bushes and whatever underneath and it still makes the noise. can some one post up pics of when they said it was the boot joints or somthing so we with this issue could replicate the fix and see if it works for us.

cheers

took your advice and ask one of my friends to pin point the sound at the back.. it seems that its coming from the left of back of the car

i hate rattle and squeaks..

mayb try get a can of WD40, spray over any bolts/hinges tat u think might have cause the squeak and see if it helps, mind u tats only temporary, but u may probably find the problem unexpectedly. it works sometimes :)

CAR SICKNESS
if it has the following
Symptoms: noise/squeaking/creaking/whatever in the rear left

use the following
Remedy: tape up the hinge (the circled bit) so its really tight...you will find it hard to close but i rather it be hard to close then have a creaking in the rear.

use as advised by dc2(x3)
Direction: tape up the hinge, check to see the condition of the tape after opening and closing several times, also to ensure all is working and the boot actually locks. may need replacing every 6months depending on the amount of use

if after taping and problem still presists see your local ECU-MAN cause if he cant fix it no one can.

and for the noobs who dont know where the boot is

Hey guys...
i also had this problem and i found it to be the interior plastic rear panels rubbing against the hinges in the boot....i think its because when the car is angled...the rear panels move abit and rub against those hinges or something like that...anyways...i rubbed grease around them and it went away..
hope that helps.

i replied abit late...
oh well...
hahaha
glad you solved it

bouce the car up and down a couple of times from the rear, if you hear something from outside the car, most likely bushes... just grease them up or change them. nolathane make good ones
