i was reading the magazine about the FD2 Civic Tye R, it is about the improvement from K20a DC5 to K20a FD2. its there a chance in future we will able to benefit from some of parts when company like spoon Js racingetc. if they release something like ECU, throttle body. intake manifold if we can change to the FD2 one. In the big diameter throttle body adopted for Civic TYPE R, the boa diameter is 64mm. This exceeds that of Integra TYPE R (2001~2006) by as much as 2mm. This big diameter making improves the flowing quantity of inside air naturally, and is the one having aimed at the improvement of the suction efficiency. In addition, the intake of air was made suction through the fender from bumper into the engine room. The purpose is to take fresh air that contains a lot of oxygen for which the temperature or more is low and necessary for combustion. It is a throttle valve of the butterfly type to have shot a beautiful shine of the golden color in the photograph. And, it is a system of DBW (drive-by-wire) that looks black right to drive this valve. Well the FD2 is refined close to 230 HP so it is about 10 hp increase compare to DC5. K series is unique designed by honda compare to B series.

Skunk2 has played around in K series from K20 to K24. They found that K series cylinder head flows a lot more air compare to B series. Extreme porting to B series can't even get close to K series stock. K series can run more aggresive angles on cams which is why K series easily gains power by only changing air intake system or exhaust.
