hey guys,
my friend just bought an Automatic 98 civic VTI sedan and was worried about the CVT transmission. A family friend told him that the transmission in the VTI's are unreliable and are prone to falling apart. i wanted to know if any1 had any experience/problems or opinions on the matter, and if this is bull or has some sort of truth to it. (i wanst sure if i should have posted this in the technical forum or the civic forum so pls redirect me if this isnt the place to post..thanx) any opinions on the sunject will help cuz my friend is kinda freakin out..lol..thnx guys!!!!:D

It wont just fall apart. I think the wort problems ppl had was jerkyness or tranny slipping

Yeah we've seen a few at work where the cvts just shit them selves. You can tell straight away by driving it.
