Hey,
I'm looking for some input on my suspension setup. I've just purchased some springs for my EK sedan which will lower the car about 35-40mm, exactly what I am looking for. I was previously just going to run these with stock shocks, but was thinking why not get the shocks done with the springs.
Now I know that koni yellows are the shocks of choice around here. But since the car is just a daily driver and not looking any track driving at all as well being a uni student I'm not looking at spending that sort of cash atm. So does anyone have any thoughts on more affordable shocks which would suit.
Thanks for the input.

Just waiting for money to transfer into my paypal account so i can pay for my set just ordered.

Total was $684.20AU:thumbsup:

The seller recons he know how to send it so i dont get charged import tax when it gets to customs, which would be $45, or $68 if they also tax the shipping fee, which im currently unsure of.
Only $34 more than the skunk2 shocks.

:thumbsup:to the 83.9 US cents to our dollar exchange rate:eek:

For this price, you couldnt look past the koni yellows, there one of the best basic, adjustable performance shocks, however you do lose your lifetime warranty by importing them.

Hey,
Just a quick question regarding koni yellow. Currently I have a stock eg shocks with type r springs. If I change the eg shocks with koni yellow, can I lower my car?

from what i understand yes, u adjust the level of the perch but u could probably only do it to an extent cause theyre not technically lowered springs.

well look at your shocks and front has 2 perch rear has 3 if you're sitting on the highest perch if you drop the konis to the lowest setting you would get around 1-1.2 inch drop in the front and around 2-2.4 inch drop in the rear in comparison to your current set up. dont know if its a good idea to work at the lowest setting though, never tried.

Thanks for letting us know Muzz, that's great price indeed for a well known top quality product. Got the koni sport on my EG now and my prev BMWs and will keep buying them.

Will give this place in the US a go in a few mths time when my fren is ready to get a set of them for his EK1. Hopefully the seller could underdeclare the value so import tax and gst no more than $100 or so.

I was in the exact same position.I ended up just changing the springs to king springs.Perfect choice. My car is 11 yrs old and it's done 83,000km's,so the stock struts were fine....

Hey Muzz, Did u end up getting the koni yellows? did you have any other dramas with communication/delivery??

any one know a decent seller on ebay for these stuff??

I had a look and theres this one from the US called, hracing1234 or something like that? Spings/coilovers/shocks and stuff pretty cheap priced... I think because the population of the US is like thousand times more than us here in Aus, therefore they would have more Honda fans, thus more parts readily avaliable... making it cheaper cause of competition...

I'm looking around on the net/ebay for some suspension stuff.. will let u guys know how everything goes....

laterz!

You can purchase the koni sports kit for the ek which insists of 3 x adjustments for the height of the spring seat and dampening adjustment and lowered koni sports springs come with the kit so its all matched. RRP from wholesale suspension at penrith approx $950.00.
