Bought an EK4 cluster from member Slaz last week and had it installed into my fren's EK1 CXi last night.

And everything works without any mods! I knew it would plug straight in but wasn't sure if all the gauges and warning light would work; didn't even have to trouble the knowlegable ECU-MAN to solve any issues.

The EK4 is an AUDM cluster, and redlines at 8K rpm so 800rpm north of the Cxi
's cut out. Another incentive for my fren to think about an upgrade to B16A one day. At the meantime he is over the moon with the tacho!

Remains to be seen if the low fuel warning light would work as well as the EK1 doesn't have a low fuel warning light. Assuming the fuel sender unit has an low fuel warning output as per EK3 upwards to the cluster it should. Will keep you guys posted on this.

the redline for cxi/gli is 6800rpm, so about 1200 north

He can get it done at an instrument place and pay $100 or so but he is definately not keen spending the $ and 65k looks a lot better than 215K.

He is keeping the orig cluster to be sold with the car when he finishes his study and keeps a photo record of how many km he has done on the new cluster. In WA the transport dept keeps record on the odo reading when you transfer ownership so not wise to flog the car off as a low Km example when they have the car on record as a 215km car in 2007.
