they are different since the B16B has a shorter stroke than the B18c ( hence its a 1.6 where the B18c is a 1.8)
The B16B is basically a de-stroked B18c7.

They wont fit. Different lenght rod.

if you're going to open the engine, spend a bit more and get stronger aftermarket parts.

Put in the ITR Crank and rods in your B16B for 1.8L ....
B16B uses the same block as B18C ITR.

really does any one know where i can get a hold of b18c7 crank and rods?? will i need to cahnge my pistons?
cheers

No the CTR pistons will work fine and they will actually give you much higher compression

PM sent,
You can use the same pistons.

So what is wrong with the engine?

You don't have to change the pistons... but theoretically, the high dome impedes the combustion process. It doesn't work too well with the increased dwell associated with the longer stroke of the b18c crank.
The theory is more or less backed up by the exampled i've seen of b18c cranks + rods and CTR pistons- they've all been prone to pinging under load.

Yes i have heard this too. b18c7 type R pistons are more then fine.;)

you sure you have that logic the right way around ?

The H2 class Honda Challenge competitors use B18C cranks with the CTR pistons all the time to give them the extra power they need. It's all down to the tuning

With that being said if you are going to use PCT (CTR) pistons just make sure you check the Piston to Valve clearance by claying your motor. The PCT pistons do stick out more then your P73 pistons. If your have milled the head/block your essentially bringing your valves closer to the piston. Check the Piston to Deck height at the same time. Otherwise if you think this is too much trouble stick with the P73 (ITR) piston.

Are you sure?
I can't see how they can run CTR pistons in any configuration of b18c1/5 and still fall under the compression limit for the H2 class.

It maybe for the latter H1 class, I gotta read up the 2007 regulations on their website... But the point I was making is that it can be used and its been proven on the race field.
EDIT* Yeah my mistake, H1 Class, their restriction is that they can only use parts source from another Honda family.
