Jack Stand

Here's the story, it was raining n i decide to wash the car on the grass. (free water :P) anyway after finish washing, car got stuck, both front wheels. But i manage to take the car out minus a dirty underbody. So now i'm out getting 2 pairs or jack stand to clean the mud but just wondering where the best secure place to place the stands as i'll be under the car for a reasonable time. Sorry for such a noob question

1) look in your manual

2) when you look under your car you will see 2 chassis rails running down the legnth of the car, put the stands there... makes sure they are places securely, as in the rails are right on the tops of the stands, chock your back wheels when jacking and let the handbrake down. Having it on stands for a while wont affect anything
