Have a search around buddy... you'll find plenty of info on here about different engine swaps been done...

short answer is if you have the money... you could swap whatever honda motor you want into it...

but to be more practical... another efi motor from a civic, crx or integra would be fine... aslong as the motor was built after the year your car was built!

plus... a swap without problems depends on your mechanical skills... any swap could be easy if you know what your doing!

hope that helps!

with money you can put any engine into the car. what are your goals? daily safe driver? track monster? etc etc.

basically to answer your questions first im just looking to add a little more power or even an engine which can be easily turbo'd later on down the track not sure on how much engines cost and installation so maybe just around 3500/4000?

omgitsmatt

vin number starts with jhmeg ( not sure if u wanted the numbers ) and the engine no is d15b followed by numbers

so with any decent swap... will have to convert to fuel injected... add a little more cash for that!

you have a GLi..
you should just boost it as it is, rather than getting an engine conversion..
if you blow it, it's cheaper to replace a d-series engine compared to a b or even a k

you won't need to convert it to EFI, as it's already equipped..

if you do get more power, what you should look into, is getting your rear drums replaced with discs, and get bigger front brakes..

but if you insist in doing an engine conversion..
b-series engines would be one of the easiest to do..
compared to other engines.. e.g. k-series engines

but replacing the d with a d-series vtec would be the easiest..

but you'll still have to rewire your car for vtec..
so you still have a bit to mess around with..

but as i suggested before, just boost it.. bang for buck..

and where could i possibly get one as no hondas come stock turbo so ive been told that i would have to modify a manifold intake? and also what turbo's would be the eaister/cheapest and best for my engine?

just do your homework..
there are plenty of threads on this forum stating what parts are needed, for what sort of power output for all different engines..

just search..

engine swaps are for girls.

you're lucky to already have the best engine ever produced by man kind - the d-series!

All you need to do now is Turbo the sucker and NO ONE on this planet will be able to beat you!
