The lip doesn't look good.. unless you do the entire rim but leave the spokes white maybe? I think i've used the wrong shade of blue too - looks like painters tape

Orange striping - go for it.

are kumho ku31s decent tyres? as in.... not noisy or anything?

Apparently theyre a bit noisy and last around 20,000km from reviews. However, theyre bang for the buck and the reviews show decent grip, even in the wet. Grip and price is the upside, wear and noise is downside IMO from the reviews. Im gonna fetch some when i can.

aero
28-10-2010, 12:22 PM
they wear better than the ku36s lol. and like ekay1 said; great bang for buck, which is why i got em. road noise isnt that big of a deal. i used to have a set of cheapo maxxis tyres on my old wheels which were awfully loud. compared to them the ku31s do well.

Stig
28-10-2010, 12:34 PM
ive had ku31 on my 19's, not a fan, annoyed the crap outta me due to road noise

eNGee
28-10-2010, 12:46 PM
Bridgestone RE001's or Falken ZE912's are also decent tyres you could consider.

I've got ZE912's and they're pretty good in terms of grip, noise and price.

28-10-2010, 01:03 PM

Stig

$400-450 per wheel to $180-200 per wheel.. you get what you pay for.

aero
28-10-2010, 05:14 PM
perhaps that price is applicable to larger sizes, but catalogue here had the fk452s in 215/40/17 for $250-$300/ tyre @ bob jane a couple months ago.
ask around, black8thgen. u'll prob find some good deals especially if u got good connections.

considering you can bring ski's/snowboards/surfboards...
it should be ok, you might have to pay a little extra for several pieces of 'oversize' luggage but weight-wise it shouldn't be a problem.

only thing is... you gotta hope it doesn't get crushed or lost :/

What howy said...
Pro Tip: individually wrap the pieces, the two side skirts were stacked up on each other without being individually wrapped. Good thing its on the under underside of the skirt.

Its not a Type R, Mugen, or Modulo kit. I'll give you guys more info once I get it painted and fitted and a few :thumbsup::thumbsup:. Dont want to get too excited yet.

It was pretty crap getting it through customs, they were being difficult, despite me having all the receipts and being cooperative. Had to fork out even more $$$ after all that I had to deal with in getting it here.

As for weight. I had it all planned out. Why do you think I only have a small duffle bag on my cart? Sacrifices were made.

ings+1?
What makes you say that? =D

Replica for sure. Its made from FG.

Just had a friend come over and give me a bit of advice. It copped a bit of bumps on the way in, so it needs a bit of work. Still a bit rough, but atleast it lines up pretty well. He says, it'll take a bit of work, but its doable, though he wouldnt want to spend time on it. Good thing I enjoy doing this stuff.

I'm gonna DIY the filling and sanding parts. Then I'll provably do the prime myself before shooting it off to the panel beaters to have it painted and baked. Might take me a few months to do it properly, i.e. with mounting and taking off, and measuring over and over again to get the lines and gaps done properly.

curtis265
30-10-2010, 11:47 AM
ahh FG :( oh well, goodluck with that.

ekay, i'm a stocke except for different tyres (RE001)

lol. Just really want to go mess around and see what it could do really.

and if i wanted it to be a track car, it needs a lot of work - handles like a booat in stock form, rofling all over the place around corners.. I thinik the driver needed more exp too, i rkn i can't drive for shit - it's v. different too video games

They were the size of 20 cent pieces in Mitchell. Id say I’ve got about 10 - 15 small dents on my roof and the same on my bonnet.

The only aftermarket things on my car is wheels and springs. Both that the insurance company know about. Although they don’t know how wide my 18’s are. :o

I really want to punch mother nature in the ****ing throat.

curtis265

hmm i think that may be a repairable writeoff. If you're car's less than a certain age, you might get a brand new one... only if it's written off that is. If your insu company knows you have those wheels then you'll probably have to give your car in with the wheels and all too - hav a chat with them when they go inspect it

Post some pics.

Yup white fd man with HIDS i think. And Duffy, PP is good material, its supposed to be the material of the actual bumper on normal cars. However! ive heard that auto platinum isnt the must trustworthy company. I got my mugen style wing from there for cheap.... quality was S***. The surface of the spoiler was fine, but the corners were horrible as they had dents and slight cracks and you could see the edges as they werent smooth. Took it to the panel beater to get it sprayed at mounted, the plastic was too thin to sand to make it smooth or else there would of been a hole in the corner. Well thats my experience from that company, its cheap though so i guess i cant ask for much lol. Sorry about the ramble! enjoy

Wow... the road shot is really bright. Maybe you should adjust that or else its going to blind oncoming traffic like mad

yeah, it would be adjustable. but as you would see, the cut-off line is so crisp and clean - no light above the cut-off line. therefore, should not blind oncoming traffic. in fact the cut-off line would be a lot better than OEM halogens. meaning the projectors will have little to no glare as compared to the OEM halogen HLs! :D

that's why i'm really tempted to get these babies...

has anyone tried putting a spare 18" wheel in the spare tyre area? Does it fit? Did a quick measure but it looks tight.

curtis265
20-11-2010, 10:59 AM
I'd recommend taking the hose out at the airbox like this: (if you haev the R18 engine). This way you can experiment around a bit - make sure you experience driving in heat first before yuo go remove the whole assembly.
http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p171/roflcurtis/261020091065.jpg

obtw, t he intake arm goes down under the batery to the resonator, and then the actual intake is just next to the battery - if you're handy, you could saw off the resonator and have a makeshift cold air intake...

Food for thought :)
