Gawd your car looks good. So tempted to part out my body kit and go back to that stock look.

Those are the 17" wheels on CL9 Accord Euros. Look amazing on FDs. I remember seeing a black one on this thread with those wheels.

Lol thanks! I want to get a FD2R front bar and Modulo side and rear.
Still contemplating weather to get those or get a Gruppe M Intake and just Vtec around town.

I want those CL9 wheels and Powder Coat them Gunmetal?
I used to have the CL7 Sports Lux rims powder coated Gunmetal. Looked awesome.
Regret selling them :(

Personally I would just get a custom intake (or something cheaper) and get a nice looking body kit or save up for something else. Those intakes cost a ridiculous amount and honestly won't make that much of a difference to performance. Its more for the bling. Can't wait to see what you're gonna do next.

From memory, theres 4 plastic clips under the bumper where the tow bar is (just use a flat head screw driver to remove), then there's one screw on each side at the very edge of the bumper where it meets the fender ( access from inside the guard with the wheel off if your wheels are too big), 3 screws on each side where the bumper meets the guard liners and 2 hex screws on the inside (you'll see them when you open the boot, they're maybe a bit bigger than a 10c coin). Pull the bumper edges where it meets the fender and unclip the tabs inside by pulling. Repeat on the other side and work towards the middle and it should come off easily. if you have parking sensors, be gentle when you remove the bumper because you might rip the wire off the sensor.

True true. I got a quote to make a custom SRI for $150-$200.
But because it sits towards the back of the engine I don't want it sucking in too much hot air.
So for another $100 or so. I can get the K&N Typhoon and it comes with the heat shield.

But its all just an idea for now. I got my tax back recently and still contemplating weather I should
stop and keep it as a daily and build an EG with a B18C7 conversion. Hard to decide :(

Thats why I'm sticking to small mods for now until I decide. Other wise I would've just went all out on a splurge haha
But even then. I like the clean drop and keep the car oem. So probably new wheels and wait for a second hand Modulo kit.
Brand new is $1,800 as is. So painted and fitted is probably another $500? Give or take.

maybe just spend 5k on a s13 to get your speed thrills and keep FD as economical daily

Why are you spending so much on Brakes? Are you turning your FD into a track car or something?

Wheels are standard Honda Civic Sports wheels. 17x7+45 with 215/45/17 (Cheap China Tyres in the rear)
NEVER had any problems with a full car. Cause of my Custom spring rates on my coilovers making them
stiffer than usual. The front needed alot of playing around on the Alignment Machine to get the wheels to not
rub the guards while cornering.

But keep in mind that driving a car that low isn't easy and requires concentration and quick reflexes.
One little tiny bump and you smash the car against the ground. Its not a little scrape noise, Its the actual
Jacking points smashing the ground and is VERY loud. kind of shit myself the first time it happened

I am serious and no not desperate. Just stating what I know that works and supported by a mechanic. :)

High offset is a big No No in my books.

That is your personal choice and fair enough.

As long as it is mechanically done properly, there is no problem using high offset rims. :)

FN2R rims are +55 offset.

badluck on that mate. i got my fenders, front bumper, grille and re enforcement bar for 500 (mates rate from hontoys) front bar would cost ya 300 atleast. try going to wreckers and pay cash. easier for you.

Guys i need help with my foggies.
Recently installed my RR foggies on the weekend. Got all my cables/relays/harnesses/fuses in and everything is good. When i turn on the switch, the background switch lights come on but the foggies dont light up at all. Im looking at the fuse box and it looks like foglights have 2 fuse slots, 6 and 20 if i remember correctly. I only got 1 fuse and i've tested it in both fuse slots but it still doesnt work. Initially I wanted to get it from jdmyard as its only about a 30min drive but I called them today and they have nothing in stock except for the mugen rr kit but I only need the front bumper and they don't sell it separately.

Got quoted $450+postage from bodykitskingdom =S what do u think of the price?

If anyone knows/finds a place to get the front bumper type r or mugen rr in nsw lmk please!

Thanks for the replies guys.

Safety Cameras are speed and red light cameras in one. There are heaps that are just red light cameras. To catch you it will flash twice.
There is some room for error, but if you are any more than 5 kph over you will more than likely be caught.
In my experience I was in no doubt on the occasions I was photographed and fined.

Can someone explain what Exhaust Drone is?
I hear people talk about it and how annoying it is. But no idea what it is

As a few people have mentioned, it's a reverberating sound on some certain notes of your exhaust setup at certain speeds. The sound is something you hear from the inside. Imagine being in a bell when it gets gonged. Learnt it the hard way when I got my middle resonator taken out and a shitty straight exhaust put in, the noise was intolerable. Couldn't bear driving for a minute. Just depends really, some people are used to it.

try a very loud s2000 sitting at ~4000rpm at 100km/h then you will understand drone

it's just the constnat noise at cruising speeds, subjective to how pu sea the driver/passengers are

Does anyone know how interchangeable the mechanicals from an EP3 would be with an FD1/2?

I know the K20A in the FD2R was a little different to the EP3 one, cam and inlet plenum but also with some different mounts for the ancilliaries... I'm wondering if you used a FD2 would the mounts from the K20ZA (I think thats right?) work on the EP3 K20A?

I'd assume that the EP3 brakes would probably fit, they're not nearly as good as FD2R ones but they should be a step up from standard FD2 gear? I'm not nearly as certain about the struts and sway bars, I'm guessing you'd probably need to either hunt down stock FD2R ones or go aftermarket?

I was planning on sticking everything from my wrecked EP3 into an EU but now I keep looking at FD's...

Just hunt around for an FD2 that has been written off and get it off there, it will be a lot easier and overall problem free.

It's possible to get the whole roof welded on which is what i would do.
But watch out if the car's been in a smash, the roof may have crumpled a bit on the sides of the sunroof.

Don't think it was welded on, its a matter of removing the associated parts from one to another.

get smaller size RSB.. i havent heard problems with 16/19mm

if u do get cusco, try not to hit the rear wheels hard onto curbs and such.. other option is get the metal reinforcement plates (e.g Corsports USA) that reinforce the thin metal on the lower controller arm where the endlinks connects onto from the RSB

the oem endlink itself is fine, its got a small rubber 'CV boot' what has fluid in it which makes it flexible to move

so in my case, i hit the rear wheel on the passenger side on a curb when turning left and it was pretty hard.. with that hit, the force on the left rear wheel went across the RSB and broke the metal connected to the endlink off the lower controller arm on the right hand size (driver side)... i noticed it when everytime i turned, i would hear a clunk at the rear wheels and saw that the endlink would be hitting the controller arm... and yes with the endlink not connected, i notice a difference when turning.. understeer

Sorry to revive an old topic but, wanna take extra consideration before I install this..

Im gonna be installing a 19mm Ultra Racing RSB from my stock 11 hollow RSB. The discussion is replacing the endlink setup as well. From my previous feedback I got, The 19mm RSB used with stock endlinks should be fine. Can anyone else confirm or give me your 2 cents? Thanks.

Both cost $2200 including installation, and everything. comes with 3 years warranty.

Do you guys know if the insurance company will care if my car isnt road worthy?

I got into an accident last week and the car is due to get assessed by AAMI this Wednesday.
Im not sure if they would care since it wasnt my fault that caused the accident but im scared
they'll cancel the claim cause the car is too low and not road worthy.

lolmclol
23-09-2013, 12:36 PM
I think they'd care if they're forced to pay for the repairs, but if they're merely assessing the car so they can confirm how much it is going to cost for the repairs I'd assume you'd be alright.

Might be worth raising your car just so you know you won't have any problems.

Also for the future it might be worth informing your insurance company that you have the suspension on your car, just so you can cover your own behind.

Thats what i was thinking. But my coilovers in the rears. I took out the locking collars so i have to take the spring out and put
the collars back in to adjust it. And if i do that mean I'll have to get an alignment and all that jibber jabber.

I think I'll just have to fork out some money then. Better to be safe than sorry.

Will my rates go up if I tell them I have coilovers? I thought Coilovers arent ADR approved?
Making them an illegal modification. I think only Australian brands like Pedders are ADR Approved.

I got quoted $3,100 for repairs. Thats brand new Boot, Bumper and 1 Light.

For example, when I had my car assessed the things on my car that aren't OEM were dismissed as they weren't seen to be a factor or cause for the accident.

If your coilovers aren't at all a reason for what happened to have happened then you should be alright, but don't take this as a 100%.

To be honest, I'd personally justify the money that you'll spend to get your car back to a stock height just for peace of mind, if for any reason at all.

I'd give your insurer a call and have a quick chat on a theoretical basis to get an idea of what your circumstances are in regards to your coilovers, I wouldn't take the advice of users on a forum.

Stevil
23-09-2013, 01:12 PM
yep raise the ride height, your not only risking insurance but potentially the cost of repairs to the other car. An alignment is cheap, being broke aint. I had an insurance dude come and look at my Corolla once as part of a claim, turned out he was ex cop & panel beater. I was suprised as **** when he told me the car was a chop job, it was written off, couldnt be registered, he then asked for the original sellers details which I supplied him with.

lolmclol
23-09-2013, 01:16 PM
Good point actually, I'd be careful incase the car that crashed into you somehow claims it was your fault (no real idea how, as they ran into you) due to your ride height you could be running a real risk.

But overall I'd assume you'll be alright as the insurance company will be getting money for your damages, if they were looking at funding your damages I think they might be going over your car with a fine comb.
