yes, the civic vi can take the k20 in, pretty easily.
it may cost you around 12-15K depending on how well you source your parts, on getting everything and getting it installed. there are 7th gen civics that come with k20a already in it from dealers overseas. in tailand the 7th gen civic sedan with k20a is called civic RS..i think. and theres the 7th gen civic Type R and Si. which also have the K series in it.
in my opinion, atm i reckon its a waste of money getting the K into your civic. you should wait abit til they get cheaper or turbo your sohc vtec.

The Civic sedan with the k20a is a different chassis to the EP chassis. But it will fit. Turboing a D17 or putting in a k20a2? Hmm, I'd choose the k20a2 for sure.

what other engine conversion options are there for the 01 - 03 hatch vi's?
looked at the honda site, and it looks like they all came with sohc 1.6 litres... are these rev happy vtec engines, or is it the new vtec based on economy?
correct me if im wrong...
are the standard engines responsive?

theres stuff all support for the VI's personally wouldn't waste my time.
They would be Vtec-e which is econo Vtec
you would be better off importing a 01-03 EP3 Type R when they are more widely available.
the Vi is essentially the old motor design in a new shell. So its no easier to put the K in it than it is to put the K in a EG/EK as none of the standard mounts are compatible.

yeah support for the Vi is shocking.. jack all but the missus is set on getting one as its alot more roomier than the jazz
so what engine is in the Vi? i kno its a sohc
but whats the engine number?
as d series engines are able to be swapd with other d series
and b series as well
so if it comes stock with something like a k16a, one would think that the mounts would be similiar to a k20?
does anyone have a picture of the Vi engine bay? if so.. post up please

afak its a updated sohc d series motor thats mounted east west like all previous D and B series motors. the K series motor is mounted west east. ie the throttle body is at the front not the back like in the VI and previous civic and teg configurations.
so its still a 15k conversion in a VI like all other previous model civic and integras
found a VI engine bay pic thanks to carsales

as you can see the Intake manifold is on the rear of the motor so the engine mounts or anything else from K motor is not compatible.

mounts and things arents a problem. jdmyard have hasport mounts for the kseries suiting the 7th gen civics. the whole conversion process is the difficult part.
