18" axis hiro (anthracite) wheels for s2000

g'day all

i really like the look of this s2000:

it has 18" axis hiro (anthracite) wheels and has been lowered approx. 1.5 inches all round with tein springs.

i have found an australian retailer for these wheels and they are reasonably priced. just wondering if i will have any issues with these as they are 18 x 8.5 all round. any thoughts?

also, does anyone know where i can get the tein springs to lower the s2000 by 1.5 inches all round?

Not a bad looking wheel, hope they're not too heavy. Its been covered a few times but heres a link to a wheel fitment guide, should answer ure questions.

Finding some teins isnt a problem, but first we gotta know where ure located or at least which city ure closest to. You also might want to search what sort of effects an aftermarket spring might have on ure cars handeling. Have a search in this forum and also have a look in www.s2ki.com. In my experience your better off with a coilover.

i live in adelaide.

wanted to use springs (instead of coilovers) to save on cost. i thought coilovers were at least 2.5 times more expensive... is this assumption correct?

as for the wheels...

from the s2000 fitment guide it looks as though the following setups could be used.

For the front:
7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 235 tires: +58 offset minimum
7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 245 tires: +63 offset minimum
For the rear:
7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 235 tires: +40 offset minimum
7.5” to 9.0” wide wheel: 245 tires: +45 offset minimum
8.0” to 9.5” wide wheel: 255 tires: +50 offset minimum
8.5” to 9.5” wide wheel: 265 tires: +55 offset minimum

so theoretically i can go:

front > 7.5” to 8.5” wide wheel: 235 tires: +58 offset minimum
rear > 8.0” to 9.5” wide wheel: 255 tires: +50 offset minimum

assuming the axis hiro's have at least +58 (for front) and +50 offset (for rear).

although the rims are not staggered like the stock honda setup, the tyre widths are.

do you see any issues with this?

i think if your gona run 9.5 at the rears would be better to run a 265 tyre instead of 255 as it would be stretched....

im also guessin those specs you got dont factor in if you lower the car??

i very doubt those wheels will come in offsets like that, they usually make offsets that are more universal on all cars, and with an offset like +55, its very unlikely to get them in nissan guards which usually are theyre majority of purchasers.

i've done alot of research and it looks like the Axis Hiro (Anthracite) wheels won't fit properly.

i can get the Axis Reverb (Anthracite) wheels to fit theoretically. therefore, i'm going with

front: 18x7.5, +42 offset, 5x114 bolt pattern with 205/40/18 tires or 215/40/18 tires if they fit (definitely pushing it)
rear: 18x8.5, +45 offset, 5x114 bolt pattern with 245/35/18 tires

i used the wheel fitment guide on www.sk2i.com to help me with this.

Does anyone know what's the max width of tyre you can put on stock AP1 rims, but to keep it all nice and safe.
