Do you have to buy another immobiliser to get insurance in a DCR2 or is the stock one enough?
Are kill switches and immobilisers the same thing?

most insurance companies prefer a 2 or 3 point immobilizer to fully insure your car. A kill switch is a small trigger somewhere that you manually flick - similar thing but to be safe get a proper alarm with 3 point immobilization

As Bennjamin said, most insurance companies would insured vehicles only with a minimum of a 3 point alarm/immobiliser, especially performance cars such as yours. Just make sure that when you do get an alarm, best to choose one that's "Certified to AS/NZS4601 amendment 1 2003 and AS/NZS3749.1 2003 Class B." as some insurance companies will ask to see that your alarm is compliant.

Hope that helps.
