Just letting you know that this forum is going to end up being a forum full of guys unless ppl stop with the rude comments and "picsorban picsorban picsorban" crap! U guys really need to stop and think b4 u post replys!
It is hard enough havn very few chicks on this forum and then havn sh*t put on us by u guys makes it worse!! (& I dont think its just me who will agree)

I think that it is best for you just to not take these posts seriously. Just ignore them or tell the guy through PM to go EAD. As for the stupid comments, you will always get keyboard warriors in every forum.

I agree, but sometimes things that are posted are meant to be understood in good humour but get misinterpreted (look at some of my repost comments - they could easily be seen as aggressive but are meant in all good fun).

no one should make a big deal abt the rudeness on this forum...if someone is being a jack ass, report it...the more reports on those rude ppl the better chance that they'll get banned sooner or later...then there will be less rude ppl

I agree there are a lot of rude people on ozhonda but they are in the minority.

Don't think it is a sexist thing - those people can be rude to anyone. You need to take the good with the bad - as there are lots of good people too.

We have tried to make Ozhonda more female friendly - avatars are now toned down from being a tit fest as is full frontal female nudity etc.

Umm, no - we do not allow for username changes.

lil_miss_vtec, I think you need to realise that due to the nature of this hobby/community there is always going to be a large majority of male users on here. That said we encourage a friendly/helpful atmosphere and like yfin said we have already taken steps to make this place more family / female friendly (this was all done before you signed up to the forums).

If any derogatory comments are made against you (or any other female member) then report the post as per bennjamin's suggestion. I've told the other mods to keep an eye out too in regards to this.

That said we also need to realise that the lounge is for off topic discussions and if any of the above mentioned issues come up in any of the technical/model specific forums they will be dealt with much more seriously.

i personally dont see the avatars as being a problem, you see more in the car mags we buy (yes chicks buy car mags too) its more the attitude some people have towards others on the forum that is the issue...

Being a Female shouldn't cause a problem but we live in a very sexually orientated world.In mags there's half naked women sprawled all over hotted up cars so unfortunately the 2 are associated together.This sort of sexism exists EVERYWHERE not just our hobbie.
You either acknowledge it or cop the repercussions of it.I know this from first hand experience cause I've fought stereotypical things all my life.... I'm 32 now and I truely know now ya cant stop the beast.But ya still gotta do ya thing ya know,but yeh at the end of the day the machine just keeps rollin' on and gaining momentum as it goes.

Haha exactly. That's why I don't like to let people know I'm a girl because they tend to form an opinion without knowing what you're really like.

This forum is great compared to others. What would you do if it was in the 'real world' and not on the internet? Would you bother complaining or venting or would you just take it on the chin and move on? If you didn't want that sort of thing to happen then you just have to look through the other pages of the 'Post a pic of yourself' thread to see that most girls will get that response from the guys. That should be enough to tell you what would happen if you post a photo of yourself.

I'm saying this in the nicest possible way, from female to female, build a bridge and get over it because you can't change it :)

Well I know this was generally started because of my reply to your thread on your defects.

As I said earlier in my PM to you (unbeknown to me this thread had started) my reply wasn't directed at you specifically, and that was also said in my reply to your Original Post.

I even pointed out that it was a general rant.

In all honesty, I couldn't care if you were a guy or girl, it had no bearing (nor was there any reference to the fact) in my post, at all.

I categorically ran through your list of defects giving you solutions (as your initial post had no reference to how you would fix these defects, and in fact questioned the defects issued).

I would think it is rude to assume that because you felt you were given a hard run by the RTA Pit Crew because you were a girl, that I have automatically done the same. My replies to others who've posted details about their Defects have always been consistant. I've given advice as to how to rectify them, and included links to references that are quite helpful (as I did in your thread about your defects).

Again, I'm sorry if you felt it was directed at you specifically, but obviously you didn't bother reading all I had to say and jumped the gun.

Ozhonda needs to make everyone welcome - just like you were welcomed not that long ago in January 2007.

The idea of the site discussion section is to improve Ozhonda and if you don't like people raising issues - don't read it. The thread starter has raised a legitimate issue here.
