i'm new to this site and wanna learn more about my car and honda. i have always loved the civics and honda's vtecs so when i got the chance to buy my first decent car i got this EK1 indy 300 special edition with the plan to mod it. i have had the car for about a year.

I bought the orginally with a huge stereo build in mind as i have always been a great car audio enthusiast. my component list is as follows

Head unit - Eclipse CD7100
Fronts - Focal 165 K2P splits

interior lighting is completely red. even my guages and dash are red. the new headunit i have which is not pictured is red lit as well.

i had a flat and it was only a slow leak that went down to 12psi when i pumped it up at a servo. when i went to a tyre shop to repair it my tyre was actually stuffed! cos of the tiny sidewalls and the negative camber in the rear it rooted the inner side wall!

audio wise i have been in the audio game for a very long time and will most probably know the answers to most technical questions. i am kind of a guru on mobileelectronicsaustralia.com so any questions i see on oz honda i will answer no worries at all and link you to a similar thread for more info on MEA.

kings kyb combo is great! it worked well just moving up a step now with whiteline sways. will keep you posted.

i don't like big kits just wanna get a nice front and rear lip for it.

well actually it increases power and economy on automatics as well. i have a very large rear muffler which quietens it alot but is still a straight through flow design so still has optimal flow. i don't find it annoying.

i know this thing isn't a power plant but little mods like my CAI and exhaust are only little things that not only improve power and economy but also looks a shit load better! here is a old pic with the stock exhaust

now instead of the full ricer thing to do which is a 60 buck ebay cannon i went to the trouble to source the biggest muffler i could find to fit under there with a 2.25" complete system

my exhaust it quiet and thats what i want so its not too loud over my stereo. it has a very deep sporty tone under hard acceleration and thats about it. during same speed driving it makes no noise.

here is a good tip for those with visible indicator bulbs or those the have clear lights and the reflection of the amber bulb makes the light look yellow when the light is off. chrome bulbs.

Did you do the install yourself? That's a pretty cool set up. I particularly like the perspex cover. Do you ever have any issues with the amp over heating being under perspex and all?

Where do you put your spare wheel and basic tools for those on road emergencies?

i have no spare and no tools. just my wheels lock nuts hidden in my car somewhere in case i do get a flat and racq can take my wheels off etc for me. i also have a tyre weld can in my car too in those cases that i am stuck. i have had a flat before and it ****ed my tyre!

my amps have a pc fan that sucks all the hot air out of the amp's box. have never had issues. when i figure out whats going wrong with my links to my pics i'll be able to post more pics ;-)

i for those wondering got my headlights from USA ebay. as you would know honda is huge over there and as far as parts go the USA has it all first. i simply saw these on there and thought they were perfect and got them. because i got them a year ago i was the only one for a long time to have these lights but now they are available on the AUS ebay and in stores around the place. the only problem with headlights is that because mine are from america and they drive on the otherside of the road the light cambers up on the wrong side and shines into oncoming traffic. to avoid this i have lowered the beam using the controls built into the light. i drive with my driving lights on too so the shorter beam length hasn't affected me at all but if i were to have just those lights and nothing else it would be shit. i am not sure if the units being sold on AUS ebay are aussie setup or USA imports set to there way of driving. anyone know please post up here cos i would sell mine and get a aussie set if they are available.

yeah it comes close to my lca in the front but never hits it. although when i jack the car up at full droop it does rest against it.

it sounds shit with the little cannon and the auto plus i never want a loud exhuast i would rather sacrifice the power for a quiet drive so i can hear my stereo with more detail. i am next month when money provides going to get another muffler further up the system or replace the existing one under the passenger seat with a bigger more effective one. i want my car quiet like it was with the big muffler. quiet with driving around but a good bit of sound when hard on the accelerator.

no sorry you do. i did my research and the whiteline sticker was not stuck properly in this model and in fact it goes up side down. the way you have it installed the bar is able to hit the lower control arm whereas the way mine is installed it goes up over the control arm and won't ever hit. i if i were you would change yours the other way round. i did a fair bit of research to make sure i was doing everthing right and am 100% sure without a doubt what i read over and over again in not only ozhonda but other forums is correct.

even the front sway if you look in my pics had the same problem with the sticker being upside down. if you look in my other pics you can clearly see how my bar bends up over the lca

yeah mate, the sticker wasn't done properly on the rear sway bar but i guess they did do it right this time. Hv a look at the thread below, it is the 1st prototype installed by whiteline, + i as well r using the sway for almost a year n the brace for 3 months n there hv been no hitting of the sway on exhaust or lca watsoever.

from it being installed by the instructions mine is correct and it is clearly visible that with the bar installed this way it goes up over the the lca higher and on a better angle. it can be seen in the install pic on the instructions to go the same way i have put it tho the pic from that thread goes your way. i would still follow the way i have done it. i have had now troubles and will post up if a do. the only trouble i have is one of my lca bushes needs to be replaced damn! they are to old and crusty and has caused the driver side lca to shift rearward!

i double check on teh instruction manual of whiteline n i m sure the sway bar will need to bend down in order to avoid hitting the exhaust. but its up to u though :)

well thats no worries then a i had a whole new exhaust fabricated to accomodate the sway anyway. there is no way possible that it could hit the exhaust or my lca. would there be any troubles in mounting the sway upside down if i have got it wrong? i wouldn't think so. it would still do its purpose and the would be no harm if it never hit anything.

you can see how i had my exhaust pipe fabricated to go as high and as clear of the sway as possible. my sway looks alot further from the lca than in that picture you posted and my sway arm looks to be flat and at right angles to the link.

you cna get the clear indicators all over the place. autobarn etc have the = ebay. the buld are amber so they emit the amber light. i have since tinted the indicators black so they are now black and illuminate amber when on

came round a corner hit a patch of gravel recent rain washed onto the road = car understeer and wheels lock but once i got control i was up onto the grass and heading straight into light pole at only 30km/h with no time to stop = write my car off = me looking to buy a eg civic hatch vti in black preferably if not white or silver.

i tried to swerve around it but it was too late and i just clipped it with my wheel which spun my car 90 degress into a street sign and a fence. the impact forced my wheel back into the firewall and bent the chassis even causing a buckle into the floor and roof. some phone pics after it happened.

it will be going to auction at fouls (unsure of spelling)and was told by the body shop a car with my stereo and mods done to it would go for about 5k there so anyone interested in the parts i had should go check it out i had 1000's spent on it and i had to leave it on the car as it was all on the policy.

on the flip side i am very excited on starting a new car i started modding my ek when i was young and liked the bling and rice look but i have grown up and love the understated look. i am definately set on a eg vti hatch. vti only as i want all the extras and sunroof and sohc vtec is always a bonus. i wanna go all black on black. black wheels polished lip uber black tint going black dual halo projector head lights jdm red white tails if a white or silver one pops up i won't say no as black ones are rare as but will still go all black other stuff still. otherwise a type r lip will be the only other body mod.

as for stereo eclipse cd7100 head unit, dynaudio 3ways speakers up front powered by a alpine pdx4.150 amp teamed up with a alpine type x sub and pdx1.1000 amp powering that. this stereo will be totally be sound quality based and will be once again competing with it in car audio australia but in just the street division not show as last time.

the chassis was bent, gear box and drive shaft plus the panel work that would be needed to fix it would be well over the 16500 i got for it..

hasn't been auctioned but yet body shop guy reckoned 4-5k it would sell for at auction. i've bought/going to buy fernando's eg si down in sydney. red jdm style hatch so expect another thread with build up pics of the stereo and the pro's at northfield moorooka working their magic. do you guys want me to find out when it is selling at auction and post it up so you can go bid on it.
