the '95 vti-s (and vti) CD5 accord's all came with the f22b1 VTEC engine. the f22a series engines reviera posted are from the CB7 (earlier) accord and exi CD5 variants, its a non-VTEC and has marginally less power and torque.

the f22b delivers 107kw and 198nm. its more than adequate for general driving but not exactly a powerhouse for a mid-size car :) however, u get to say 'i got VTEC y0' which is what its really all about ;)

yeh i reckon its good enough for power. i raced my bro's 93 celica twin cam (2.2L) and kick his arsse everytime with at least 2 car lengths....on a legal drag strip of course with all the safety gadgets + helmet *ahem*. but then again i have 4-2-1 headers + full exhaust. i also kept up with a v6 commodore who thought he was top-shite.

i say dont underestimate the power of F22b!

Hi mate,

Well what the other have said i correct. And ECU-MAN is even more correct. Your looking for the VTI-S, That will have the F22b1 SOHC Vtec, was really designed for fuel economy more than anything else. Few extra features in the VTi-S ie leather seats, electric seats, sunroof, etc. Thats if you want luxury. The F22A's that you mentioned, appeared in the earlier model accords CB7's (the more square shapes ones) and Vtec was never an option in AUDM cars.

Vinnie, The EXi Has the f22b3 non vtec, not the F22a. :P

I'm pretty sure all accords 94-97 are all refered to as CD5.

Regardless if its a facelift (late 95 - 97) or a pre-facelift (93 - late 95) the chassis code is the CD5 Accord. This also applies to which varient you choose as well, whether its the EXi, VTi, Or VTi-S All come under the CD5 Flag.

Where abouts are you from mate? If your from melb come out to our weekly meets we generally have. PM me for details.
