Sup guys,

Im looking at getting some CTR Headlights, but there seems to be a problem. IS there 2 different types of CTR headlights???

I've read this site saying theres either smoked chrome or black chrome.
i always thought they were gunmetal.

Heres a quote from thier site.
JDM Factory. An extremely stylish upgrade for your 1999-2000 Honda Civic. These JDM headlights are built to the exacting tolerances you would expect from a genuine Honda part. An aggressive looking smoked chrome or black chrome inner housing distinguishes the Civic Type-R over the standard Civics' chrome units. The orange, light refractor strip is also a thing of the past for a hassle free 'clear corner' ! Also added on these Japanese headlights, are a provision for a city light bulb for headlight illumination without having the actual headlights on. (City light bulb and socket available separately).

These two civics seems two have different lights.

i need some answers!!!!!

Here's some pics from the site of the CTR lights.

the one's on the left are fairly dark, so do you think they are fake.

somtimes its hard to tell if its genuine or not from looking at the pictures.

i'd describe ctr headlights as more of a black chrome (or whichever way u call it that means the same thing) housing. when u look at it in person, its a tad shinny.

headlights with black housings that claimed to b ctr is definately NOT.

of the 4 pictures u posted, they all look right/genuine except for the white EK, it appears to be a lil too dark to b ctr headlights, altho it may very well just b the lighting.

the 2 close up headlights u posted is definately genuine as u can see 'Honda' and 'Stanley' writings on it.

there're 2 types of CTR headlights, pre and facelift which im sure u're aware of.

hope this helps a little.

the JDM ctr headlight has its bulb exposed in an open space. (no bulb cover like we got here) therefore, when you install HID, it will shines up to 3 storeys apartment building. HID is not recommended here.

Dude your looking at buying a set of headlights form a company other than HONDA!!

Of course they are fake.

Otherwise you would be paying 5x what the retail that you see at the moment.

Take some initiative and get what YOU would like to see on YOUR car.

Unless they have an official Honda Part number they are a knock off.

that's interesting, i'm gonna have to take a look at mine. I run HID's and don't have any issues.

see how the top of the H4 has a painted "cap" this is what stops you blinding people with halogens as you can see the HIDs have no "cap". I wanna see the cut off on a wall too. oncoming traffic must hate you.

Hey man

I got HIDs on mine too and no probs at all even when the coppers pulled me over various times.

the pic of the headlight above (is from a pre face lift) not too sure but my CTR headdies have like a cover thing in the headlight that acts like the cap that will stop the light beaming directly towards oncomming traffic. Not sure why that headlight doesnt have it.

As an extra precaution after installing my HIDs I realigned the beam down by a few degrees just so it doesnt conflict with any on coming traffic. play with the screws on the top of the headlight.

yeah i'll take a pic against a wall if my car ever gets back on the road. but yeah, it's fine as long as you adjust it right.

I've been pulled over by cops heaps of times, and never been hassled for the HID's. Been hassled for everything else though, lol.

If your bothered about the open bulb, swap faces with the back of your existing lights. That way you can still run the CTR fronts and have the cover over your HID's. I have the same setup in my car.

Barefoot - what happened to your yellow lights?

All CTR headlights should come with the protecting cover anyways no need to change em around.

Hope this helps man you should get em IMO makes the car look really "COOL"

no worries.. might check it out this weekend..
i got them when i was working in japan, and sent them over with the rest of my stuff (parts, house stuff etc.. ) when i moved back here... so the price would be different from those that order them from a shop etc.
